Justin's POV

I walk into the office, anger still running thickly in my veins like I've just taken my first deadly shot of heroin. It was overwhelming at times, my feelings were clustered into one. Trust me, it was not a feeling I was about to get used to. I wouldn't allow it.

It was just hard to escape. No matter where I was, my office, the smoking area outside, even the bathroom: the highlight of every conversation was all about Selena fucking Gomez and her promotion she got for being my fathers best dick rider of the month. She is so undeserving of that position, I smile mischievously each time a secretive whisper would believe the same or be even harsher about it. Trust me, there was some.

Selena was in a position I craved. She had people envying her each and every minute. Everything she would do was being watched so carefully with no good intention, in hopes she would fuck up so bad it would be impossible to fix or find a simple solution.

Yet, she would have those people who would worship the ground her tall heels would walk on like she was some Greek God. Again, the motive was never good. They would remain close just so they would have a greater chance of getting a promotion, better career options or even to sabotage her when least expected. The business was truly messy, full of deception, full of corrupt people.

I had some digging in employee files while I had a few spare moments around midday. Apparently, she had been working in the building for over 3 years now. She clearly wasn't that great since her name hadn't even sounded familiar - still don't know even with each appraisal she had in her records. Wouldn't surprise me if she was some kind of janitor for the first year before getting into doing some worthwhile work.

I approach the meeting office around 3, where my father ordered a meeting between his closest employees and the people who represent the company somehow. He was expecting me to hear the gallant speech about Selena's new job title again, even with no details being confirmed about when he was leaving for definite. I am tired of the "trust me" speech also. I had no trust left to give him unless he proved me in ways I couldn't even imagine. I would be surprised if he could.

I opened the glass door and I saw the room was full of people, gossiping as they wait for the couple of seats in the conference room to fill up, one being mine. The voices don't alter at my presence, but I do feel the wondering eye of some.

I clear my throat quietly as I walk over to my seat, directly opposite Selena, who was the only person not communicating at all. She was writing or probably drawing on her notepad in front of her. Her hand just glided across the paper so effortlessly while concentrating.

She didn't seem talkative. She kept her head down as it hide her face almost entirely from each side. It was like she was avoiding even the spark of a conversation.

"You taking notes on how a meeting works or how to run a business?" I ask discreetly to her across the table.

She doesn't reply though, she doesn't even give me a second of her time. I didn't expect anything else. Her hand continues to scribble the pen on the paper, before she turns the book over suddenly and places the pen on the perfectly untouched sheet which was now on top.

"We are going to make a start now. Good morning everyone." My father makes his appearance and everyone, excluding myself, gave him some kind of greeting. I didn't even care he was there as he took his seat at the top of the table.

"Before this meeting goes ahead, I have some news as I am aware some of you already know." I roll my eyes already. "Sadly, as we grow up, our ambitions and life long dreams can lose its flame, especially once it's gained at its full potential. I feel my time is nearing, therefore I am going to be giving up my position as the owner of this company in the upcoming months. I feel my ownership has done its course and we need a new, open mind to take it further in depths that I couldn't."
