JUSTINS POV

2 MONTHS LATER

"What are you doing?" I shout across the bedroom, waiting for Selena to hurry up getting ready as I look at myself in the mirror, smirking at the handsome man in the reflection.

The confidence was back, the man had returned and I felt extremely powerful again.

It was a shame that the moment I began to feel monumentally better, Selena went in the opposite direction.

She had been ill recently, vomiting mostly with a few other signs that something was up. I gathered it was my cooking since I had terrible skills in that department and it was something I was beginning to do more often. I was good at many things but managing to cook a meal without mistakes? I wanted to be good husband material. It just wasn't in my strongest of pursuits. For that exact reason, I had decided to leave everything alone in the kitchen tonight and to take us both to a fancy restaurant in town.

"I'll be out in a second." She shouts back a second later. She sounded like she was been throwing up again, just as I thought she was getting better.

"Babe, we can cancel the reservation if you want," I say, slightly disappointed as I tugged on the ring box in my trouser pocket, but I was reasonable.

With a flush of the toilet and a few passing moments, she slowly emerged, looking like a million bucks. It was like she hadn't been spilling her guts only minutes ago and she appeared as a brand new woman. She could really share some of her tips.

She was wearing a short, red skirt with a black buttoned shirt and a matching red coat on hand which she put on once she looked into the mirror and tucked in her shirt all around and made sure everything was to her high standards. The jackets sweet embroidered flowers made it a signature look for her, I knew it. She loved small, intricate details.

"I'm fine." She says with a heartfelt smile.

"Are you sure? I could call for a personal chef instead, I'm sure there are a few available on short notice."

"No." She says strongly. "Justin, I'm honestly okay now. I think fresh air and quality food you haven't touched sounds great."

I wanted to detest that, make her see reason because I didn't want her to get even iller from some random person with the flu. She fluttered her eyelashes before kissing me on the cheek. "I'm fine, come on."

"If you say so."

Hypnotised, I couldn't stop looking at her. Not even for a split second.

Tonight, I prayed I get to say she was my fiancé. Realistically, was it fast-paced? I don't know. Is it a good idea? Hopefully. But do I want to spend my life with Selena, growing old together and starting a beautiful family one day? That was the only thing clear as day, of course, I wanted all that.

I wanted all the corny shit too, even crap like matching Christmas jumpers if it meant she was happy. I wanted it all.

I couldn't see myself doing it with any other woman. If it wasn't Selena, then it's wasn't right.

"You look beautiful by the way if I hadn't said it before." She was reading the menu, looking for the option that went well with her appetite. I could see her eyes scanning each and every item.
