Chapter 35: Oh no! It’s him!

    Friday, April 19 2013, 4pm

I hear a knock at the door. “I’ll get it mum.” I went to open the door, as mad as a hornet a man comes barging into my house. He starts to yell. He shouts things I’ve heard before, horrible things.

“Sophie!” The man pauses “Get here now you little slag, you did this to me!”

My mum is in shock. She exclaimed,

“Drake?! You shouldn’t be back here for another couple months.”

At this moment I realised it is my dad. “Dad?” I look at him with a confused look on my face.

“What do you want, you little bitch?” He replies with fury in his voice.

My mum has already started to make her way down the stairs; she runs up to my dad and tells him to never say that to me again.

“Make me!” My dad attacks with great acrimony, he turns to hit my mum.

I shout. “Get away from my mum, don’t you touch her! I pause and look at my dad. “Dad please what’s happened to you?”

My mum answers. “Scarlet Amelia Walker! This is between me and your father! Go to your room sweetheart.”

I walk up the stairs, a single teardrop forms in my eye and it starts to fall down my red rosy cheek. ‘I’ve never seen my dad like this before’ I thought to myself as I trail up the stairs. I turn back to see my mum and I saw my dad about to...

“Mum look out!” I yell as anger boils inside of me. I know my father has changed. He was once a loving man believe it or not, he used to treat my mum like a queen, she told me this once before.

My mum has quick reflexes and she ducks as my dad went to hit her.

“OW!” yells my dad in pain from hitting his hand on the banister.

“Scarlet, go get me my phone please, and hurry sweety.”

“Yes mum!” I shout as I dash up the stairs and before you know it I’m back down again, giving my mum her phone.

My mum phones the police. She tells the secretary on the phone about everything, what has happened and where she lives. As quick as lightening the police are here, they brought backup just in case.

“What seems to be the problem ma’am?” the officer asks in a polite manner.

My dad was about to get up from the sofa and make a run for it. I stop him.

“Get off me, little bitch!” Right then and there he hit me. The policeman had seen enough. Two of them grab hold of my dad, put him in handcuffs, then the officer asks my mum to explain. She explained as best as she could without crying. They had heard enough and the officer shoves my dad into the police van and they drive away.
