Chapter 44: Tell me about Rouge?!

Angel’s P.O.V
I guess mum forgot I was there or something because I’ve just heard her full convocation with someone called Rouge, and he is Scarlet’s father, oh wow I did not expect that from my mum. Well at least she has a better father than I do, I wonder if she knows about Rouge. Has mum even told her?
I don’t think so. Scarlet has weird feelings about my dad, she tells me every day when he isn’t here. I go lie on the floor under the couch Scarlet is lying on and start to ask questions about Rouge to my mum.
“Rouge is a Vampire from Romania; we go way back to when we were children. We grew up together and once we went out for a walk and I looked into his electric blue eyes and something changed me.” My mum said smiling with her eyes shut and hands clenched up in one ball near her heart.
“Wow mum, tell me what happened next.” I say eagerly
“Okay.” She smiles, “After that we knew it was love, we Zinged that means you have found your soul mate, once you Zing it’s for life, no going back. The only way to undo your Zing is if you haven’t seen your mate for a long time, me and Rouge last saw each other in February 2002–”
“The year Scarlet was born!” I cut mum off
“Yes Angel. So as I was saying, you have to be apart from your mate for at least five hundred years. Me and Rouge haven’t seen each other for fourteen years. That means our Zing is still connected.”
“What happens when you Zing?”
My mum opens her mouth, “Your eyes glimmer pink or purple with tints of red, then they go back to normal again, it’s something amazing that will only happen once in your life. The second time, it’s not as special because you see your first person as them, so it’s harder to fall in love.”
“So how come you didn’t marry Rouge mum?”
“Because the Witch Council didn’t approve at them times, also if I didn’t meet your father, then you would not be here, you’re my boy, and I’m so glad you are with me now.” My mum says
“Aww mum.” I smile at her and hug her so tight.
Mum notices Scarlet is having a dream. I really want to peer inside to see what it is, but mum tells me not to as it could be something to do with Mother Nature. Scarlet hasn’t been to Mother in a while, she’s been concentrating on school lately and having people round for sleepovers. Also she is scared of my dad; she thinks he is going to hurt her whenever he gets close to her.
