Chapter 36: About the past
Friday, April 19 2013, 5pm
Scarlet’s P.O.V
“Mum?”
“Yes dear?” She replies
I pause for a moment and think of the right words to ask “What happened to dad?”
“He has been drinking again sweety.” She sighs as she replies.
“What do you mean again, Mum?”
Sophie’s P.O.V
“Well Scarlet on the night of mine and your father’s honeymoon he got drunk and I mean really drunk. Worse than he was tonight in fact.”
“What happened Mum?” I heard Scarlet say with fear in her voice.
“Are you sure you want to hear darling?”
“Yes mum.” came her reply.
Oh god how do I explain this to a twelve year old. “Well, like I said we got drink, he was a lot drunk than me. I knew when I had enough, so I stopped.”
“Sophie have a drink with me.” Came a mumbling husband.
“I will not drink no more, I have had enough now, Drake. Sweetpea please stop.”
“You don’t tell me what to do, and what not to do women. I am the boss of you and you will do what I tell you to do!” Came your fathers reply.
“Drake please, not tonight, it’s our Honeymoon.”
“I don’t give a shit if it our Honeymoon, or not, I want to drink so I am.” He said with a vicious voice towards me.
I got up and left the room, before I could physically leave Drake was pulling me back down. He was telling me to stay with him, so I did. That is until, I had enough.
“That’s it Drake, it’s been two hours since you started to drink and you haven’t stopped since, calm down with the drinking.”
“Like I said before, you can’t tell me what to do.” He replied with anger. I paused for a moment and took a look at Scarlet.
Scarlet’s P.O.V
I can see mum is upset about what happened to dad on that night and I see how it relates to tonight.
“It’s ok mum, you’re upset, and I can see that, you don’t have to tell me anymore. I can see where this is leading to.” I said and I watched my mum smile, she also had tears in her eyes.
