KABANATA 46
I went to a chair in a corner and knelt down. I looked up to His image and all those bottled up feelings came pouring out.
"Papa Jesus, save me. It hurts so much. Why did You have to make me live just to witness my loved ones' demise? Sana pinatay Niyo na lang ako. It would have made everyone's life easier if I hadn't been born at all!"
I cried some more as I bowed my head even lower and my hands clasped tightly together.
I stayed inside the chapel, crying and praying with all my heart, until I finally calmed down. The old ladies inside were kind enough to offer their prayers for me even though they didn't know me or the circumstances that I was in. They comforted me and promised that everything's going to be all right in God's time. And that I should trust Him and His promises of redemption.
It was already late in the afternoon when I got out the adoration chapel.
The salty wind could truly give comfort to a troubled heart.
I was holding my pair of sneakers while enjoying the feel of the fine sands beneath my feet when I noticed a familiar SUV slowing down at a not-so-far distance, its back was on me. He grabbed her waist and pinned her to his body.
Her hand moved protectively over her small bag.
"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" Kunot-noo nitong tugon.
"Bakit kayo magkasama? Dinukot ka ba niya? Sinaktan? May ginawa ba siyang masama sa iyo? Sabihin mo, Cecilia, at igaganti kaagad kita—"
"Pwede ba huwag mo akong sundan?! She spatted as she shoved me out of the way.
Bakit kayo magkasama? Didn't you hate him? Why were you allowing him to hold you like that?"
