Being the new girl

Fallwood High...

So here I am. Walking through the doors of Fallwood High for the very first time. Ha how cringy is that...omg I'm shaking so bad. All I can think about is what mum said in the car. 'It will all work out OK...' hmm. My first class is Art. Great, I thought, at least I can't embarrass myself! As I walked in, I could feel everyone's eyes on me. It's like I'd killed someone or something. "Can I help you miss?" Miss Dawn (teacher) asked. "Erm, I've just transferred here. My names Katie Heart, my timetable said I should be here..."
"Ah yes, the headteacher informed me this morning that I would have a new student. Well then," She looked around the class and pointed to a spare seat next to a smiling girl, "Why don't you take a seat next to Mia, she'll explain what we are doing and will help keep you on track. Is that ok Mia?"
"Of course miss," She turned to face me "I know what you must be thinking, you can hang out with me and my friends if you want?"
"I'd love to, thanks"
For the rest of that class, I just sat there smiling. Hoping her friends were as nice as her...
As class was coming to an end, I collected my new art book and started to head out of class. As I reached the door, I could feel a hand tapping me on the shoulder. I spun around to see this cute boy standing there looking kinda awkward. "Hey, I'm Rhys." He smiled at me so I felt reassured he wasn't trying to trick me or something "I'm Katie, nice to meet you." We then just stood there awkwardly, not really knowing what to say. Then Rhys burst out saying "Do you want to...Erm...Idk, be friends?" Oh, I thought, I was sure he was going to say something else. "Er, sure. I could use some friends right now." He started to laugh slightly "Omg, sorry that came out all wrong- I didn't mean it like that"
"It's fine, honestly. See you round Katie."
He then walked out the door and I shortly followed. Mia was standing outside with some other girls. "Hey Katie, were you just talking to Rhys? He is wayyy outta your league. Like he's so stupid and such an idiot. I'll grant you he's cute tho!" I started laughing then "He's not that bad! He seems really nice and wanted to be friends..."
"Fair enough, anyway this is Grace, Aimee and Amber. Girls this is Katie. She's new here."
"Hi guys..."
"Hey, I hope you feel like you can trust  us and we can be bestiesss!!" Grace burst out saying. I felt so pleased. These girls I had only just met wanted to be friends with ME....maybe things will be ok after all.
The bell rang and apparently we all have PE together. Throughout PE, all we did was talk and get to know each other, instead of playing netball: Mia is a dragon obsessor and loves writing stories. She is kind and considerate and has everyone's backs. Grace is dragon obsessed -like Mia- and was trustworthy and acts like a cat the majority of the time. Aimee is a fangirl, she is obsessed with imagines and Hrvy, Loren, the Ziegler sisters and Lisa and Lena. And finally there's Amber, she has the most in common with me and I think we could be really close friends...hopefully. She joined a year ago and loves makeup and clothes. She's quite popular and has a boyfriend, Dan, who is apparently the fittest guy in school. NOT MY OPINION...Hehe. "Sooo, about Rhys..." all the girls laughed and I felt instantly at home.
