We all filed into Amber's living room with all the food we could find that was worth eating. We sat down on the sofa and started playing truth or dare, Amber started, "Okk, Aimee. Truth or dare"
"Truth, it's safer...I hope"
"Ha, unlikely. Ok, we have all been suspecting something as you've been acting really strange lately. Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Er, you guys this is not fair!" All of us gave her disapproving looks until she finally answered. "Fine! I do, it's Ross"
Wait what? Did she really just say that? Aimee and Ross are dating. Aww. "Right that's so sweet, I think. Aimee your turn."
"Ok thanks. Um, Katie. Truth or dare?"
Really, either way this is not going to be good.
"Ugh, dare. I don't want to be asked anything embarrassing thank you."
"Great, I dare you to call Rhys and ask him out."
"Wait what, that's not fair. You...I, don't even know if I like him!"
I hated Aimee for this but I knew the others would have done it to. I got my phone out, typed Rhys' number into my phone and hit call. This is going to be so embarrassing.
Ring ring "Hello?"
"Hi, it's Katie from school."
"Oh hi Katie, you ok?"
"Yes thanks, I just have a quick question. This is going to sound so awkward and out of the blue but...........um.........will you. Go out with me?"
Rhys went silent. It was only for a few moments but it felt like forever as I waited for his response. Secretly, I was hoping he would say yes. I could feel the girls eyes on me at all times and it was awful.
"Is this a joke?"
"No I'm serious. I'm scared shit asking you right now."
"Oh ok, well if it's not then.....yes I will."
"Wait what? Really?!"
"Yeah, hey Katie. I've got to go, speak on Monday?"
"Ok me too. See ya!"
Wtaf!!! Did that just happen? I felt a shiver going down my spine and butterflies in my stomach. I am actually dating Rhys!
"See that wasn't so bad! Awe I'm so please for you Katie. It's your turn now tho." Aimee said quite happily.
"I'm still in shock! Well, I choose....Mia. Truth or dare?"
"Truth"
"Tell us who you have a crush on! Please"
"Ugh, I hate you guys! God I knew deep down you were gonna say that. Fine, you've done yours so it's only fair I do mine. I really like...James. Please don't tell him tho guys."
"Awe that's so cute! And we won't."
As the night went on, we found out Grace is still off boys -no surprise- and Amber thinks Dan is cheating on her. I feel so bad for her, he treats her like shit and it's not nice.
Looking back, I've made so many memories with these girls and we've only known each other around 2-3 days. How time flies! The rest of the night included binge watching Riverdale and sharing secrets. I'm so scared for Monday tho, I really don't know what I'm going to do...
"Girls, I'm scared I've made things awkward between me and Rhys now! We've only known each other less than a week after all."
The girls looked sympathetically at me but Grace was the only one to speak,"Hey! Don't worry, it won't be I promise. You two are like, love at first sight. It's vile."
We all burst out laughing. I felt slightly reassured, but not enough. And how was I supposed to tell my Mum and Dad. Oh, I don't think I've mentioned my Dad at all. He's away at the moment doing some sort of business thing. Idk, it's boring. Anyway he's home tomorrow so that should be fun...right? Wrong!
