Awkward

"Well it's nice to see you too!" I looked really awkwardly at Rhys who was glaring at me.
"Ugh guys, this is my *cough* EX boyfriend Jake!"
All my friends gasped and I was just dying inside...why is he even here? He goes to Cheadle which is a good three hours away from here. Rhys snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me close, he must have felt threatened or something - he defo shouldn't though.
"Jake why are you here?"
I was panicking now thinking how him coming here could ruin everything I've built.
"Chill yo' beans Kitty cat! I'm dating Millie now,"
Of course he is, Millie and Hannah always had to have everything of mine that was good.
"We are really close but I missed you kitty. Thought I'd stop by and see how you're doing!"
"Why? Cheadle is about three hours away from here...why do you care anyway, I broke up with you because you were cheating on me! Remember that?"
He went silent then, I wanted to leave so I grabbed Rhys' hand and pulled him away, all of the others followed...except for Mia.
"Katie wait! I didn't mean to, can't we at least be friends? Ugh that girl is so awkward!"
"Hi I'm Mia, one of Katie's best friends!"
"How nice, listen tell Katie I'm sorry?"
"Oh ugh sure..."
"Cheers love."
James shouted Mia and she trailed off. I hope she won't get too close to Jake, he's bad news!
"Katie why does he call you Kitty cat?"
Rhys looked really worried, he shouldn't be. Like I said he's a figure of my PAST!
"I actually don't know, he's always done it. It's really wierd..."
School the next day was pretty crap. Amber avoided me for some unknown reason and Mia was acting really strange so I confronted her;
"Hey girl, you OK? You've been really quiet since meeting Jake. Please don't like him, you have James and he's bad news, promise me?"
She went silent and timidly nodded her head. I feel really worried for her.
Miss Dawn was being really nice today which was unusual. You may remember her from earlier in my story, she seemed nice right? Wrong! That's just an act for the new kids.
"OK class, we have a new student today. Please welcome Jake Mason. Be nice to him, and make him feel welcome! Jake sit where ever you like. I don't suppose you know anyone in here. Just say hi."
Shit!
"Hi everyone..."
He scanned the room briefly and spotted me within a second, I tried not to make eye contact but it was useless. He came and sat next to me with a wicked grin on his face.
"Aw kitty cat, thought I'd surprise you!"
Ugh! I am never going to live this down.
"Miss I'm going to be sick!" I spun round to see Mia looking as white as a sheet.
"Oh goodness, go to medical. Katie go with her!"
We ran out of the classroom and got to medical in the nick of time.
"Katie...I need to tell you something."
