The bell rang to signal the start of the day and I couldn't wait. I'd resolved to talk to Amber at break, the girls insisted. I walked into form and took my seat next to Rhys, "Happy birthday Katie!" He planted a kiss on my cheek, all of his mates were laughing at him but I thought it was sweet. "Thank you."I whispered in his ear.
"Alright you lot, shut up! Today we have wider curriculum on consent..."
"I don't remember giving consent for him to drone on about consent." Mia moaned, we all burst out laughing.
"Right I said be quiet! Mia, Katie, Grace, Aimee outside now." We walked out of the door pretty embarrassed, but didn't bother hanging around to hear what sir had to say. We ran to the woods and hid there, it was my birthday after all. Not long after, Rhys, James and Ross joined us...presuming they got kicked out too haha. "Happy birthday Katie!" The boys said in unison, it was slightly creepy in all honesty but sweet, "Thanks guys..." I looked in the corner of my eye and could see Aimee and Ross rushing behind a tree and started 'eating each other' as we like to call it...Basically it's making out. "Ewww, can we go somewhere else please. Aimee is infested with atoms." Grace moaned, I laughed (atoms are boys btw). We all agreed and headed off to the locker room.
"This is so different from my previous birthdays.."
"Probably because you haven't been 14 before and weren't skiving your lesson!" Rhys burst out saying.
"Well yeah, but it's the first time my birthdays been acknowledged," hence why I forgot this morning, "I uh, my old friend Millie has the same birthday as me so we only celebrated hers. You get used to it after a while..."
I hadn't told Rhys about Millie and Hannah, I presumed the girls did. "Awe hun, I'm sorry. I see why you weren't excited this morning.." Mia trailed off then and started to fidget uncomfortably. I followed her gaze and could see Amber walking towards us. We must have left the door open as we didn't hear her come in. "Erm, guys please can I talk to Katie a moment?"
They all backed off a bit and I just stared at my feet. "What do you want Amber?"
"You keep ignoring me and it's not fair. I didn't kiss Josh, you came in as he went in to kiss me. I was upset that Dan was cheating on me....well I thought he was. We've spoke now and everything's fine. Please can we be friends again? I want to spend your birthday with you, not fighting." In all honesty I wanted the same.
"I'm so sorry Amber." She pulled me into a hug and I'm glad she did. It felt nice to have all my friends again.
As the lunch bell went, we decided to play dares. Grace was at gym practice, she would be glad she's not playing this though. Me, Rhys, Aimee, Ross, Mia, James, Amber and Dan all sat around the table and the first dare all the girls  had to do. It was to kiss our boyfriends on the lips and then pull. It was easy for Aimee because it's all her and Ross do and Amber and Dan, but for me and Mia it was harder as we felt extremely self conscious. "Trust me Katie." Rhys said softly and I did, I leant in and pulled him. Butterflies. Mia looked away but planted a kiss on James' lips.  He grabbed her waist and pulled her on top of him, awe it was so cute.
The bell went for the end of the day, my mum and sister are away for the weekend so I have the house to myself . We decided we'd all stay over at mine...even Grace and the boys. It got interesting...

Ooh what do you think will happen at the sleepover? This may have been a bit disturbing for some people. That was a strange way to spend your birthday, don't you think? Oh well, at least Katie had a nice day? Well bye for now.
