We both like him?

I went into school without hesitation this morning. I avoided mum and ignored Em in case she told mum anything I said. I felt awful about it, Em just has a tendency to spill secrets. I was greeted at the gates by Amber, Mia, Grace and Aimee. We linked arms and started to head towards our form room. "Omg, Hannah and Millie turned up to my house last night. It was chaotic and my mum was involved." The girls looked so awkward, Amber spoke first. "Awe Katie, that must have been so awkward. Anyway Mia has something to tell you, later." I glanced towards Mia, who was looking unbelievably uncomfortable. I tried to ignore it and just carry on with my day...nothing could be worse than last night. "Okay...come on, we're gonna be late." The bell rang and we had to run to make it before our teacher did. I didn't have form yesterday so no one else has met me, and I haven't met them. Aimee spoke for me, "Mr Leiston, this is Katie. She joined yesterday."
"Ok, well it's nice to meet you Katie. I would put you next to one of the girls but there are no spare seats." He started looking round and my gaze followed his. Oh no... "Well the only spare seat is next to Rhys so why don't you sit there for now."
"Oh ok."  Rhys is in my form!!! And I have to sit next to him...
"Hey Katie, looks like fates brought us together right?"
"Erm, I guess so." I looked over to see Rhys going bright red and all of his friends were laughing at him. One of them whispered in my ear. "He told us all about you yesterday," not at all creepy "and you have no idea how much of a crush he has on you. He keeps denying it, but he is such a bad lier." Omg, this was not happening right now. I looked over at my friends and all of them were smiling and winking at me. Great, not at all embarrassing!
Mr Leiston didn't really talk to us much that lesson so we all had our own conversations. "Soo, Rhys. Do you, Erm, have a...." before I could finish the bell went for break. Grace grabbed my arm and started to pull me out of the door "ugh, Rhys I'll see you later."
"Wait Katie, I..."
Before he could finish I was out of the door and in the - locker room? This couldn't have been right.
"Hey what's going on? Why aren't we going to the yard?" Mia went quiet so Grace spoke for her, "Mia here has a little crush on Rhys too."
"Hang on too, why who else does?"
"Omg really!! You of course." I started stuttering, I didn't care if she liked Rhys....did I?
"Ugh no! And Mia don't worry, I. .." Mia burst in abruptly "Um NO! I don't like Rhys at all, he's a nice guy but he is head over heals for Katie. I like..."

Hehe, you thought you'd find out who Mia likes right? Well maybe I'm wrong but you won't find out yet. I hope you're enjoying it so far. Katie and Rhys seem to never finish their conversations together 😂 poor them, will something ever come from it? Right back to the story xx

Fast forwarding to the end of the day as nothing else happened. "So do you girls want to come for a sleepover at mine? My mums out all night, we can play truth or dare. Hehe" Amber looked at us. I think my mum would let me go I'll just text her, we don't have school tomorrow so it was set.
"I'd love to! I'll just text my mum and then we can go"
All the girls started smiling and so did I, I haven't felt this happy in an extremely long time.
