"Now the surprise has been spoilt. I am taking you to my Dad's boxing club tonight. You will need your gym gear; dad will have you in the ring if you want to spend more time with me you need to be initiated into the club." There was that cheeky smile again.

"What! I have to fight your father to prove myself?" I asked nervously.

"No, not my father, you have to go into the ring with Lance Del-Ray!" She was grinning at me and enjoying this moment.

"Your kidding the famous boxer?? Is he related to you? I get to meet him?" Questions and excitement bubbled inside of me, and I tried desperately not to jump up and down like a 13-year-old girl.

"Yes, Yes and Yes, not only will you meet him, you will have a boxing match with him. You heard my Dad the club is full tonight. I don't introduce just anyone to my Dad, you know." She admitted.

"This is an amazing opportunity, Steven. We have been following Lance Del-Ray for years now; Purdy," my father now directs his attention unto Purdy, "we have watched most of his fights live, and I don't mean on television, have you ever been to any of his matches?"

"Yes Mr Chase, I'm usually ringside." She answered.

"This is wonderful, and you are related to Lance Del-Ray? Well, of course, you are I'm just a little starstruck." He laughed.

"Oh shut up, Richard." Mrs Chase chided him.

Purdy suddenly went to the front door. I thought she was leaving when she came back with that well-worn backpack, she opened it and pulled out the sketchpad that I was using today.

"Here," she says, handing me the pad and looks back in her bag taking out a pack of pencils, "I am assuming you have graphite pencils so here are some coloured ones."

"These are for me, are you sure?" Bewildered, she had no money for lunch today how can she afford to give me art supplies they are so expensive.

"Yes, I showed your art to my dad today he said it was cute but don't make it your vocation in life and I can lift whatever supplies I want at the shop so no biggie." She said with a shrug of her shoulders.

"What, you stole these items, Purdy you can't steal thing you should know that is wrong," I yelled.

"Fu*k you, Steven, I did not steal these items I have never stolen anything in my life. My Dad owns a tattoo parlour, and I work there, I can take whatever supplies I want as long as I record it and I make my own money so I can pay my way. F*ck You, Steven; I thought you were different."

I stood there staring at Purdy, her bright blue eyes glistening with unshed tears. "I'm sorry Purdy I am ashamed and embarrassed that I shouted at you, please accept my apology." I pleaded. Purdy closed her eyes and bowed her head; I think she might have been praying again. Then she shook her head. At this moment I realised I had made the biggest mistake ever and I was going to lose my Purdy.

"Don't be so hard on him Purdy," Ed urged, "I may be the one with Autism, but Steven here isn't too great with being in social situations either, never mind talking to girls."

"Edward I told you-you could come along to my church there's a great youth club that would help you get to know new people. You don't have to attend the church, and your mum can meet other parents." Purdy chatted to Ed like they are best buds, I can't believe he kept this a secret from me all this time. Ed then started whispering to his mother asking about if he was allowed to go my attention was taken away by Purdy saying,

"If Edward says I have to forgive you, then I have to forgive you. Now, 'Nerd Boy', where is this poem?"
