Just something kind of random I made up. Somehow this made me cry.

-------------------------------

Muffled screams. Tears. Agony. Fear.

These clung to Isa as she woke up suddenly, gasping for air. She looks around in a panic before she sees her two Pichus sleeping on their beds, and she calms down.

It's just a bad dream, Isa tells herself. It's all in the past. I'm safe. I'm at home.

Isa closes her eyes before they snap back open. This isn't Castle Korio. Or Smash Manor. Or wherever the hell that Nohrian castle was.

She was far away from all of that.

Sighing, Isa quietly slips out of her bed and exits her room, mindful of her Pichus. She walks down the halls, not caring that she was barefoot and that she looked like she had been through hell. She had other concerns that she was worrying about.

She eventually reaches the bridge, and sits down to gaze at the stars. As a child, she would have given anything to be in space with the Paladins of Voltron.

Now she's actually with them, but is miserable as hell.

Sure, she was having fun. She would train with Shiro to hone her skills, and listened to Pidge as she rambled about technology. She would mess with Keith, and help Hunk in the kitchen however she could. She would listen to Coran as they cleaned the castle, and help Allura plot their next moves with Kolivan. She would play video games with Matt, and bond with Lance. She even had fun talking with Lotor, of all people.

It was as if she truly belonged here.

But she didn't.

Isa didn't belong here.

In fact, it was a similar sentiment she felt when she was in that alternate version of Fates, where she worked with Lamia and her siblings to take down their half-sister Leora. Despite making connections, she felt out of place.

It mostly stemmed from her not originating from that world.

Isa watches as the stars go by as the ship moves to its next destination. Within a few hours, Voltron would save another planet. They would be heroes, and they would celebrate another victory against Zarkon. A celebration would be in order.

Yet it would be another stab in the heart for Isa.

During the last few celebrations, she would see her home in the paladins. She would see her friends, her family, and her girlfriend that she had left behind, though she had no choice in the matter.

It was to hide and later reunite with them, or be cast aside as a criminal.

If only she hadn't been trapped in this dimension. A dimension fighting for freedom, but they were chains around Isa. She was truly trapped here, with no way to go back home.

She regrets not truly saying goodbye to everyone.

Worst of all, she had no clue if she was considered dead.

Yet at the same time, something told her that there was someone looking for her.

She closed her eyes before hearing, ".....Isa?"

Isa jumps and sees Allura standing there. She blinks. When did she get here?

"Are you alright?" Allura says.

"Yes," Isa said rather quickly. "Just a bit of insomnia."

"I doubt it. Your face says otherwise."

Isa looks at the ground, not challenging Allura's claim. What was the point of doing so?

She doesn't notice that Allura has come closer until she feels hands wrap around hers. She looks up from the ground to see Allura looking at her with a concerned look on her face. "I know how it's been for you these past few days. Being away from everything you love."

Isa nodded slowly, and that signaled for Allura to continue.

"I.... Looked into some of the books in the library, and Coran and I think we have a way for you to continue your family."

Isa freezes. How was that possible? "R-Really?"

Allura smiled. "Yes. It.... May take some work and will require the paladins' help, but it will work."

Isa didn't know what to say. She hugged Allura as tears streamed down her face. "T-Thank you."

Allura hugged back. "You're welcome."

Isa may not have been born in this dimension, nor really have any reason to fight against the Galra.

But she'd be damned if she didn't go and help her new friends.

Basically a lot of things happen after Isa's story in Subspace Resurrection, and she gets bouts of depression like this. The ending is meh mostly because I got sad during the first parts.
