"You're an experiment?" Mike asked.

Rey nodded. "I used to be at least," she said as she covered her sleeve up. She hated the mark on her. It made her feel like she was an object. But not anymore. She was now a person named Rey Snyder, where she would be normal and only use her abilities if absolutely necessary.

Mike stared at her in shock for a little bit. "El had a tattoo as well. She had 011 on her arm. She had telekinesis and telepathy," He said, sighing at the mention of El. "What powers do you have?"

"Telepathy, shapeshifting, and teleportation," Rey said. She then showed him her teleportation ability and then shape shifted into a dog. Mike's eyes widened as she shape shifted back into her normal self. He thought her powers were cool, but to him nothing could top El's abilities. She was really cool.

"How did you escape?" Mike asked after a brief moment of silence.

Rey chuckled a little. "I outsmarted them. After they performed a huge test on me, a really intense one, I realized I had enough of them. I wasn't going to have experiments performed on me any longer. So after they were done with the experiment, I pretended that I was dead. I completely fooled them and they took me to my bed room and laid me on my bed before they could dump my body somewhere. I took that time to shape shift into a mouse and I crawled through a small pipe in my room. I managed to get out and I went through the fence and far away from the lab. I was in the woods for a little bit before reaching the town. I looked odd due to my hospital gown, but I didn't even notice. I overheard some people talking about a Ray from this movie called Ghostbusters, so I decided to go by that name, but obviously spelled differently. Then some adults figured out I was homeless so they took me to an orphanage where I got adopted a few days later to the Snyder family. I told them my name and they gave me the longer version of Reyna. Then they enrolled me into the school and here I am," she explained.

Rey felt a little bit upset over the memory of the last experiment that was performed on her. They had tried to make her read a mind from all the way across the world and then when that didn't work, they put her in a tank and tried to do it there. Whenever she couldn't, they electric shocked her through the tank. They figured that it would be a good idea to do that in water with a living person in there. So she pretended that the electric shock and the overuse of energy killed her. During that time, she was able to get some rest to get her powers working again.

"Whoa," Mike said. Then he looked down at the picture he was still holding. "Did you know El?" He said, choking it out.

Rey shrugged. "Barely. I've seen her around and I've definitely heard of her name. They called her the most powerful one. That made her be favored more for the worse experiments. One night I had to sleep in the same room as her, the dark room. She barely even talked. I knew a few words then too, but I could talk in full sentences. I still needed to learn though. She didn't know anything though. She only knew 'Yes', 'No', and other stuff that had to do with experiments. She was the worse treated in the lab," she said.

Mike started tearing up more at the mention of El being treated bad. None of that should've happened to her in her childhood. She wasn't an object, she was a human. So were the other experiments, like Rey. Then an idea popped into his head as he turned back to Rey, wiping his tears away.

"Maybe we could help the others in that lab? Help them escape," he suggested. His hopeful look faded away when Rey sighed and said that they couldn't for all of them. "What? Why?" He asked.

"Because some of them got manipulated. Some of them are evil, like the bad men."

That was when Nancy came downstairs. Her eyes widened when she noticed Rey sitting by Mike in the blanket fort. Rey turned around and noticed her and immediately made a guilty grin. Mike just looked annoyed at his sister.

"Rey, what are you doing down here? I thought you were upstairs in my room and giving my brother privacy?" Nancy asked.

"I'm sorry. I was exploring the house and I heard crying. I wanted to go check it out," the girl apologized.

Mike still had an annoyed look towards Nancy. "What is it this time Nancy?" He said, groaning at her.

Nancy looked over at him and he confused look change to a softer look. She always did that when she saw her brother these days and it annoyed the hell out of him. Sure, he wasn't acting like his normal self ever since El died, but that doesn't mean that he can't be treated normally and not like a baby.

"I just wanted to let you know that dinner is ready if you want to eat," Nancy said. The boy quickly rejected. "Mike, you're going to have to eat something eventually! You could get really sick if you don't eat!"

Mike glared at her. "Does it look like I give a fucking shit?! The last time I ate something, she was alive! So what's the point now?! Just leave me the fuck alone and I'm not going to eat some shit that Mom makes and that Dad pays attention to the most! So get the fuck out! Eat your shit without bugging me for the rest of your life, why don't you?! What's even the point anymore now that El's dead?! EL IS DEAD! I live with that every day of my life and you expect me to eat something as if everything was normal?! Well, that's not happening! Because everything is NOT NORMAL! I LOVED HER NANCY! I LOVED HER! BUT SHES DEAD AND NOTHING IS GOING TO BE NORMAL! SO DEAL WITH IT!" He yelled. He could be heard throughout the entire house or even the whole neighborhood, but he didn't care. He started to tear up and pulled the blanket fort drape down so no one could see him cry.

Nancy motioned to Rey that they should leave the basement. She nodded as she looked over at the closed blanket fort. Was Mike even right? Could Eleven actually be dead? She was too powerful to be killed in whatever way she died.

Rey would have to investigate this.
