Around the same time when Mike was by himself, everyone else was planning out their strategy to break in to Hawkins Lab. Their plan was to get through the fence with Rey's teleportation. Then they would get through the doors and sneak around the front hallway. Rey would be shape shifted into a guard to pretend that she was arresting them and leading them to the cells. They would be able to infiltrate the cells and free the others with hopefully not being caught.
If they did happen to be caught, they would all have guns ready with them. Hopper and Nancy were teaching the kids how to use guns so they would be ready. They couldn't go in unarmed, so they had no choice than to teach them how. The kids didn't mind though since they all wanted to know how.
While they were shooting cans, Rey came outside to talk with Nancy. She eyed the kids for a minute and saw them all shoot a can down. "You guys are really good. This is seriously your first time shooting?" She complemented.
"Yup, it's our first time," Dustin said.
"Well, I shot rocks from a wrist rocket before so I've had way better aim than these people," Lucas bragged. Dustin flipped him off and he flipped him off back.
Rey chuckled at the kids' behavior. Then she walked over to Nancy. "I think we should bring Mike into this," she said to her.
Nancy gave her a confused look. "You mean my brother who won't do anything anymore? No offense, Rey, but he probably won't want to be involved," she said.
"I know it's a risk, but it was actually his idea in the first place. That's what made me think of this little heist. The boys told me that he used to be the leader of their party. This heist could probably get him back to his old ways," Rey said.
Nancy sighed. "Maybe you're right. I'll call my house," she said. "You help the chief out with training the kids." Rey nodded as the teen went inside the house to call her house.
Mike's sister just hoped that her brother wouldn't be an ass about this. She dialed her home number into the phone and waited for someone to pick up, whether it would be her mom, her dad, or Mike. It took a while for someone to pick up though and Nancy was starting to worry a little. Then her mother answered the phone and Nancy's worries went away.
"Mom? Is Mike there? I need to talk to him," she said.
There was a pause at the other end. Then Karen finally spoke. "Nancy, he's gone. He ran away from the house!" She said in a worried tone.
Nancy became shocked and worried and upset all at the same time. "What?! What do you mean he ran away?! What happened?!" She yelled. Karen then told her what happened and Nancy became angry at her mother. "Mom you can't do that! You know how much that fort and picture means to him! You shouldn't have done that and then he wouldn't have run away! You haven't even seen his connection with her so how would you know if you were handling things?!" She yelled louder.
"I was trying to help him move on!" Karen protested.
"Yeah, and doing that is helping. You didn't even help him the first time around when she disappeared! And now you pulled the final straw!" Nancy said. Then she tried to calm down a little bit and sighed. "Just tell me that you are at least looking for him."
Karen paused on the other end. "Well, uh, no not yet," she said. That was it for her daughter and she hung up furiously. Then she stormed outside and walked up to Rey, who noticed that she was angry.
"Are you okay? What happened?" She asked. Then Nancy explained what had happened over the phone and that Mike was missing. Rey's eyes widened at the whole story. She couldn't believe that Mrs. Wheeler would do that to Mike. "Oh my god! We better go out and find him then! Even if he may not want to be found, we still have to look," she said. Then she called everyone inside so they could talk in the living room.
