The group walked into the lab, pretending to be prisoners while Rey was their captor. When asked by other guards, she explained that she found them roaming around the lab inside the fence, taking about exploiting their secrets. The other guards believed her and let them pass. They all sighed with relief as they walked to the elevator to the prison level.
Once they got in the elevator, Rey shapeshifted back to her normal self and pressed the button that led to the prison level. Then she removed everyone's handcuffs and handed them all their guns. "Lets do this guys. Lets show this lab what for," she said. When they made it to the prison level, she spoke up again. "We'll have to split up to cover more ground. The prisons that 007, 009, and 010 are in are their numbers. DO NOT open any cells that don't have those numbers. Once we free them, we find Eleven," she said.
Everyone nodded. "I'll go to El. Alone," Mike said. They started to protest, but he wouldn't let them. "I'm not going to just wait any longer to get her back! I'm going alone. She'll be scared if anyone else comes. I promised her anyway," he explained. "Is the sensory deprivation tank on this level?"
Rey nodded. "They are on this level. You may have to go down another floor because there are many rooms with them, but most of them are on this level," she said.
Mike nodded and ran off to find El. Everyone else started splitting up into groups. Joyce, Hopper, and Nancy went together. The second group was Rey, Dustin, and Steve. The last group was Will, Max, Lucas, and Jonathan. Then they all split up in order to find the other experiments.
They just hoped they weren't too late to save them.
...
Rey, Dustin, and Steve ran down the halls and hid whenever they saw a doctor or a guard walk by. There were a lot of cells in the hall and it was taking a while to find the ones with the experiment numbers.
"You sure you know where you're going?" Steve asked.
"Yes! I've been here for most of my life, so of course I know where I'm going," Rey responded. "You really seem like the kind of guy who would question everybody about what they are doing."
Dustin gave her a look. "You don't want to know," he commented. Steve sneered at him jokingly and they continued on their way.
Unfortunately, they bumped into some doctors. The doctors were about to apologize until they saw the guns and the fact that they weren't wearing a uniform. They even noticed Rey's 005 tattoo on her arm. She could tell as she quickly tried to cover it up, but they already got a full glance of it. They were about to attack before Steve shot at one of them. Then he started chasing after them with Rey and Dustin calling his name.
"YOU GUYS GO! I GOT THIS!" Steve called behind him. Rey and Dustin exchanged worried looks with each other and kept going, hoping that Steve would be okay.
...
Will, Max, Lucas, and Jonathan were on a separate path and they were in an area with barely any doctors roaming around. They were having a really easy time. But they were still aware of their surroundings and they still had their guns ready in case they had to shoot.
They were getting closer to the experiment cells until they heard a yelling noise behind them. Lucas, Will, and Jonathan looked behind them and noticed that Max was gone. They could hear her screaming behind them. Lucas immediately freaked out and started to follow the sound of her screaming.
"GO ON WITHOUT ME! I NEED TO HELP MAX!" He yelled.
"BUT LUCAS, ITS DANGEROUS!" Will yelled back.
"DOES IT LOOK LIKE I GIVE A SHIT?!" Lucas yelled. He sounded like he was far away now, so it was too late to stop him. Will turned to look at his brother, who had a worried look. But they kept going to find the experiments.
