I woke up with pain jabbing in my leg. My leg was in so much pain. I tried to ignore the pain, yet I couldn't. I let out a slight whimper and frowned.
I noticed Dakota wasn't near me. Where is he? I wondered. Maybe he went to get a drink of water or went for a walk, I guessed, although I wasn't sure. I decided to stay where I was, laying down. He will be back soon, I reminded myself.
The pain was on going. It wouldn't go away. Not much of a surprise really, The Alpha did bite into my wounded leg deeply.
I kept waiting for Dakota to come back, and shivered a little as the growing breeze washed over me. Some whimpers would slip out too, since I was in a lot of pain.
While I waited for Dakota, I would try to distract myself from the pain. I would watch the sun rise slowly rise higher and higher, yet that never distracted me from the pain.
I kept trying to distract myself until I heard weak steps grow closer to me. I tensed up a little, afraid that it might be the pack that wants to kill me. If it was that pack, they would kill me, for I am too weak to fight at all.
I closed my eyes and winced a little, frightened about who it might be. The weak steps stopped right next to me. I didn't want to open my eyes, and stare at the Alpha that wanted to kill me. Although, if this was the Alpha, he didn't growl or snarl, he was quiet.
"I've got a new bandage for you," the voice whispered into my ear.
I opened my eyes slowly to see Dakota in front of me. Thank goodness it was Dakota.
I loosened up and sighed in relief of it being Dakota. I nodded okay.
"This might hurt a little, since you're awake."
Dakota slowly took off my other bandage that was almost completely broken. I winced a little as he took it off. I then heard him gasp in shock. His gasp scarred me a little.
"W-what's wrong?" I stuttered.
I noticed that Dakota took a deep breath and tried to said with as much calmness as he could say it with, "It's just..." he paused and continued, "you're wound is way worse than I thought."
I turned to look at my wound. He was right. The Alpha had broken my bone and caused major bruises. My leg was all bloody and beaten up. Looking at my wound made me feel queasy.
Dakota started to put the new bandage on my leg, "This part might hurt more."
When he slowly started to put the bandage on, I whimpered a lot and winced. It hurt badly, and my wounded leg burned. I heard Dakota apologize a lot quietly under his breath while he put the bandage on.
"Almost done," he muttered while finishing up on putting the bandage on.
Just a little longer. I kept telling myself.
I winced one last time when he finished putting it on my wounded leg.
"There."
I was thankful that Dakota put that bandage on.
"Thank you," I slightly smiled towards him.
He nodded you're welcome and limped to lay next to me. I noticed his ankle was worse than it was yesterday. I realized, his ankle needed something like a bandage too, so it could heal and hurt less.
"Wait," I suddenly said.
"What?" He tilted his head with confusion.
"What about your wounded ankle?" I asked him.
"Don't worry about my ankle, worry about yourself," he shook his head.
He always tells me that. I felt guilty for not helping him out that much. He has helped me more than I have helped him.
"I'm going to go make a bandage for your ankle. You could really use one," I said sternly and started to get up on my legs.
"No," he said with a steady voice. "My ankle is fine. Now just lay back down and get some more rest."
I wasn't going to lay back down. He needed help on his ankle, and I wasn't going to let him stop me from helping him.
"I'm going," I said with stubbornness in my voice."Your ankle needs a bandage and you know it."
Dakota slowly in a standing position and stood in front of me.
"I'm not letting you go make me a stupid bandage. You need to go rest your leg," he said it with clarity.
I shook my head. I'm not letting him stop me from helping him.
"I'm not letting you stop me from going. It won't take that long anyway for me to make the bandage," I said with frustration.
He said with irritation at me, "You're not going. I don't think you understand the word, not."
"I do understand!" I growled."You're not stopping me."
I started to move forward, and towards the path in the woods. I had enough of his arguing with me about not letting me go and make him a bandage for his ankle.
Dakota went back in front of me and snapped, "I'll go make myself a bandage if it makes you lay down!"
"I can make it myself, I'm not stupid!" I snapped back at him.
Did he think I was stupid? I knew how to make a bandage! I didn't need his help!
He muttered something under his breath and said firmly, "I don't want something bad to happen to you, and it'd be better anyway if you rested your leg."
I wasn't going to rest my leg until I made him a bandage.
"You're wasting your time arguing with me. I'm going."
I said it one last time, and I wasn't going to say it again.
"You're just so..," he mumbled, "stubborn sometimes."
I could tell he knew I wasn't going to listen to him.
He rolled his eyes at me, "Fine. But if you're going, then I'm coming with."
"Then let's go."
Clearly, if I was going to go, then he was coming with me. That irritated me a little, but I didn't bother to start another argue. We both then started to limp towards the path in the woods that had a few things to make a bandage.
