I felt terrible for kicking Dakota hard in the chest and leaving him tied to a rock. I had to do it though, I had to go through with my plan. Since Dakota wouldn't back off, I had to force him to back off.
I could only imagine how upset Dakota would be feeling right now.
If I were him in that stage, I'd feel very frustrated and sad.
And angry with me.
I wish I could go back and tell Dakota how sorry I felt, yet I didn't, for I knew there was no turning back now.
Focus, I reminded myself. I had to focus on the plan I was going to do.
I kept running towards where I knew the Alpha and his pack would be at. Their den was some place across the river.
The river.
I shuddered when the memories came back to me in a flash.
Those horrible memories.
I hated that river from what it did to me.
There was no way I'd ever go back in that river again, so I decided to find a route around it.
I began lightly trotting down the river, following its long path. I could hear the rapids race down the river.
I was close to the edge of the river, yet not so close to the point that I'd trip into it. I made sure I was at a safe distance, so that I wouldn't fall into the river.
I kept following its path, knowing that there would be no way around this river, for it was too long to find a way around it.
I definitely didn't want to cross that river ever again, yet I knew I had too, there was no other way.
It was too risky though. I would die trying to swim to the other side.
I thought for a moment, deciding what to do and suddenly a different idea hit me. If I couldn't swim across, I could find a different way to cross the river.
I squinted my eyes, scanning for ways to cross the intense river.
There! Some big rocks laid in the river, holding steady as the water sprang past it.
I could cross on those rocks safely, and make it to the other side without a scratch. I would have to be very careful to not slip in though, and be wise about every step I would take. It was a risky idea, but I was willing to take it.
I walked up to the first rock and steadied my balance. I placed my front paw on top of the rock and pulled my other legs on.
My one inquired leg I'd have to be extra careful with, and be sure to not put too much pressure on it.
I moved on to the next rock, putting another paw on the rock and pulling the rest of my legs over.
The third rock though, I had to be the most careful when going on it. I had to make a small jump on to it.
I took a deep breath, to steady myself.
I aimed for the rock and bolted on to it. I nearly slipped on the rock, yet luckily I caught myself. My legs shook once more, so I had to steady them again.
I went on to the fourth, then the fifth, and finally I got to the last rock.
The final rock that I stood on was a little far from the land. I'd have to jump on the land, for I couldn't walk on because the land was to far away from me.
I backed up and got ready to jump.
When I was ready, I dashed forward and sprang on to the land. Luckily, I did make it on to the land, however, I banged my wounded leg to hard on the ground.
