It was time to take the tests. I didn't want to take these tests, but I knew I had to.

Was I really ready? I shook my head. I didn't feel ready. I hope that I was all set for these tests.

I soon trailed along with all the others to the meeting area.

I sat next to the others. Everyone went silent when Adelmo started speaking. "Welcome, all," he nodded, "Everyone who are taking the tests will be tested in two ways, two test. Each one will test two strengths you will need that will determine if you fit to be a true wolf and what rank you will be." he paused and continued, "Now let's start. Ari..." he began to go down the list of names.

I waited, with my nervous-self shaking a little, waiting for the moment for him to call my name.

After awhile of waiting, I heard him call my name.

"Dakota."

I instantly stood up and went towards Adelmo with a sigh.

He lead me to the test area. He then walked back to the meeting area to name off more wolves who would be testing.

Zach, my friend, brought me to my first test, to test me.

He wasn't only the one that was going to test me, but he was always the one who'd help and stand up for me.

When I was younger, the other wolf pups would always make fun of me because I was always known as the weak pup.

One time, a bigger pup than me shoved me and laughed, "What a weakling he is! He can barely keep his balance!"

Everyone started laughing with him, at me. I felt ashamed of myself and started to cry.

Zach saw what happened and came over growling at the wolf pups.

"Back off! All of you!"

He stood by my side baring his teeth at the wolf pups. Zach was older and bigger than the wolf pups and me, which made him look more bolder.

The wolf pups stopped laughing and nodded without arguing. Zach still was growling at them.

"Now, scram!" he barked furiously.

All the pups nodded again and ran off.

Zach still watches out for me to this day, which I'm glad for.

I shook the memory away and refocused on the moment.

"Test one will be testing you on how fast you can run," Zach barked.

I nodded. Speed.

Zach gestured me to stand behind the starting point and barked again,"Start here and when I count to three, start running until you pass the finishing point which is just past those bushes."

Seems simple right? I could feel the pressure growing in me.

I waited until he yelled,"One, two, three...go!"

I then sprinted down the path as fast as I could. My paws started to burn.

I soon slammed to a stop when I passed the finishing point. My paws hurt a little from the running.

Zach nodded, "Alright, moving on to test two."

I followed him to a herd of elk. Of course, hunting.
