"Pause," Valarie said with a stern voice. A thought crossed her mind as she was thinking. "Why would you want to invest in an Cosmetics company?" Bruce looks down then back up with a small smile on his face. "It'll be something new I want to try. And you'll be the first to help expand my company." We scoffed and stood up with a look of disbelief. "Look, I don't know what kind of game or angle you're trying to play but I seriously don't believe that Bruce Wayne wants to expand his company with the VE."
"Their isn't an angle. Its strictly business and I think you're the perfect candidate." Bruce replied. "You and your family moved here for a reason correct?" He asks rhetorically.
Valarie didn't get that part and answered him saying, "They wanted VE to take over an entire city. My parents have worked so hard and my brothers and sisters." She sighed. "And I will not sell half of my families company that could one day take over the world."
Bruce understood, by the tone in her voice, that she was passionate about the company she was left to tend. She obviously didn't want to give it up and Bruce asking her made her insides flip.
"I don't understand." Valarie said crossing her leg across the other. "You are the CEO of a Tech company." She says emphasizing the word tech. "Since when do you want to go half and half on a company that's main goal is V.E cosmetics take over?"
Bruce stared at her as she folded her lips together, waiting for his response. He didn't answer already seeing where the question was going and what her answer was going to be.
She stood to her feet and shook her head. "Im sorry Mr. Wayne. I'm going to ave to decline your offer."
He stood to his feet as well with a smile on his face and said, "I'm sorry to hear that." Valarie adjusted her weight to one side and crossed her arms and with a warm voice she said, "Please forgive me. I can't make a decision like that. Especially not with the one year anniversary coming up." He nodded his head understanding her point of view.
"Which reminds me," Valarie said walking to her desk and typing in the code. "I have an invitation for you." she said, retrieving it from inside the desk. She handed it to him as he read it.

"Celebrate?" He asks. She puts her head down. "A year has already passes since their death, and the time for mourning has passed. I had celebrate written to celebrate the time I had with them." She let out a small laugh and looks back up. Bruce gave her a small grin and held out his hand to shake it. "Very nice seeing you again Mr. Wayne." Valarie said as she gripped his hand in hers. "I uh, hope you can make it. My father spoke very highly of you and I'm sufe he'd want you there."
"Of course." he smiled letting go of her small smooth hand. Valarie led him to the door where Casper was lying. "Come on Casper." She said, picking him up in her arms and opening the door for him. "Have a good day Ms. Ellington." Said Bruce, walking towards the black limo. She waves at him and walked back into the house.
Casper let out a meow and she rubbed his head. "He must take me for a fool." Casper snuggled against her and she let out a scoff. "Mr.Wayne doesn't take me seriously if he thought I would sign my name on the line." Valarie uttered storming off to her bedroom to get ready for work.
