As soon as they walked in the door they saw Jacklyn emerge from the kitchen with a tray of tea.
"How was the party?" She asks. They don't answer and walk past her heading for the bat cave.

"Whoa. What happened to your face?" She said placing the tray on the nearest coffee table.

"Stop talking." Damian said. "You sound like a worried mother and its irritating."

She gave him the side eye and folded her arms. "Whats with the attitude?" Jacklyn asks, "and where is Jason?"

Bruce looked at Dick and then Damian and Tim.

"I'm going to go...find Alfred." Tim said, noticing that he was no where to be seen.

"We got into a fight at Valarie Ellington's party and he went off." Said Dick, with a sigh. Damian folded his arms and looked her in the eye and said,

"He's not going to be coming back until tomorrow or mid-day. You know, the usual night out at the club."

"I told Damian to tell you I was going to take care of it. What did you say?" She asked with a slight glare.

"I didn't say anything. He doesn't even know. We got into an argument because of what he saw." Dick replied a little uneasy.

They all knew how Jacklyn would get a little out of control when it came to things like this.

Damian looked at them both confused and not entertained. He wasn't exactly fond of not being kept in the loop about what was going on. This was more than your average Todd and Jason squabble. Hell, it was worse. He only knew what Jack had told him and from what it sounded like, there was more.

What brought Damian back to reality was the glowing fire from her eyes. She grabbed the bruised faced boywonder by his shirt and said with glaring eyes. "Find him and bring him home."

"Simmer down hot sauce." said Dick clearly annoyed and a bit scared. "I'll find him but I can't promise to bring him home."

Damian POV

I watched her drop him and he dusted himself off.

"Don't wait up." He said sarcastically before heading out of the door.

Jacklyn sat down and covered her face with her hands. I wasn't much for comfort and I definitely couldn't...wouldn't say anything to make her feel better. I had no idea what was going on.

"What aren't you telling me?" I asked calmly. Knowing she probably wouldn't even tell me.

"How did you like Valarie?" She asks looking up at me with a fake smile. Clearly, like I expected, she was avoiding my question.

I let out a frustrated sigh as she pours some tea in a cup and adds brown sugar.

"That woman..." I began trying to find the right words to describe how I strongly dislike her. "she is a rude and snobby child. If she were to disrespect me in front of my grandfather I'm sure that woman would be dead."

A small laugh leaves her mouth as she hands me the china cup and motions for me to sit down across from her. I do so as she pours another cup.

"I'm sure she's not all bad. You must have said something to her."

"Trust me," I say taking a sip of the hot tea. "I was honest with her that's all."

"Damian, you have the tendency to be to honest." She said placing her cup on the table and then saying something in her ancient enchanted language which made her box of talismans and charms appear.

"I agree, my words may have been a bit to honest." I mutter taking another sip, watching her scrummage through the jeweled box.

"You are unbelievable." Jacklyn laughs rolling her eyes at me and leaning forward. "You provoked her Damian. No wonder she 'disrespected' you. You did it first "

"I clearly did not. I only stated facts before she tried to slap me." I retort, staring back at her.

"What did you say to her?" She asks going back to her box. I licked my bottom lip and said,

"That woman's parents are fools for giving her the company. She is an inexperienced child who is stupid for not taking my fathers deal."

"Damian that was disrespectful. No wonder she tried to slap you. I don't blame her at all."

I went silent, watching Jacklyn pour something into her tea and it made this puff of colored smoke came from it as she muttered something else in her enchanted language.

"You don't seem ill." I say after shes finishes. Her eyes look to me and she has a solid facial expression that made my jaw clench.

"I never said that," she began with a softness in her voice. "I just wasn't feeling up to it. " Said Jacklyn, taking a sip of her tea.

"When are you going to tell me what's going on with you? You've been-"

"Damian, I love you like a brother. There is just some things I can't tell you. You'd hate me for it..." She says, muttering the last part.

"I've known you my whole life Jacklyn. Why do you feel its necessary for you to keep secrets from me?"

"Because, you would look at me differently if I told you."

"This is affecting Grayson and Todd's performance during missions. They got us kicked out the Ellington house hold and the fact that you feel Grayson is more trusting than I...is foolish and senseless."

"I trust you. I really do, but Dick found out. I told him nothing. I wasn't planning on telling anyone anything. I didn't want anyone's judgment."

"About what." I said rigorously getting discouraged and impatient with her.

Her eyes stared directly into mine and it was full of her raging anger. The fire in her eyes made me uneasy and concerned on why she was so furious.

"Enough with the questions." she said with an angry voice. "I'm done talking about this because its none of your business."

And with that she stood up and disappeared in her foggy red cloud, the tea with her.
