Throwing her head back with a gasp snapped her, along with everyone else out of the trance.

Damian POV

I watched Nikola excuse himself, as Novena recovers. She seemed very anxious with just the four of us.

Who wouldn't be?

She shared a traumatic past with us. Her whole life sounded traumatic. And she still managed to live through it.

"My brother broke the link." She says. "I can show you the rest."

Her hands were stretched out and we took them. I was quite anxious to see the rest and that was very surprising. I blame it on her abilities.

"What do we do now?" Asks Gavril once they were in the clear. "We can not go back. And if we go with the pale ones, we will be imprisoned."

"We rest here. I'll sneak into their camp later-"

"SHUT UP!" Yelled Henric still trying to catch his breath. "Once again we ran. Adom will not stop until we are all dead! Did you not see what happened to Mother? Isaac? I will not hide again!"

"Listen to yourself!" Gavril shouted frustrated. "Its what we do. Its what we've been doing-"

"FOR THE LAST THOUSAND YEARS, GAVRIL! ALL OF US HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS CYCLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN!"

"Please," Novena reached out her hand. "calm down." Her hazel eyes blinking furiously to keep herself at ease. "Let me-"

Henric pulled away, as his feet backed away from them all. "There will be no more of that!" He shouted whilst shaking his head of red hair. "No more trying to ease my pain. Novena I want to feel it, all of it. I don't want to forget this feeling anymore. I am not Nikola, Gavril...mother. I refuse to let you erase what I feel."

Dropping her hand, Novena gulped as her brothers took a hold of her hand. "Its how we move on." Nikola explained "Its how this family has survived-"

"Surviving!" He scoffed slamming his fist into the nearest tree making his sister jump. Gavril squeezed her hand safely. "This," he points between them "its not survival. Its...its not dying for a short time. I won't have any part of it any more."

"Please Henric." Nikola begged holding out his free hand. "Come with us. I have a plan-"

"No more! No more plans! I'm leaving. Separating is what we should have done from the start. Maybe the rest of our siblings would still be alive if we separated."

"Don't say that." Says Gavril breathing in a sharp breath. "You can't leave us. Families stick together Henric. We are bonded together and never broken apart. We face our problems together, fight together, defend each other! How dare you walk away from your family! How dare you Henric!"

"As you said brother, we are bonded together. Whenever you need me I'll be there but right now...I don't need to be here. You should be leaving them too. Walking around with honorary gods will only get you so much protection, Gavril." Henric says starting to walk off.

None of them moved or protested anymore. Novena had taken their ability to care because what Henric was saying was true.

"Let him go " she hushes, holding in her own tears. Nikola turns to her brushing away her jet black curls, "Let him go. He is still a boy who has so much to learn about this world. This gift will only take him so far."

Her eyes met Gavril and he folded his lips. "Henric was right. I don't even know if I should thank you for taking away the pain or feel betrayed "

Dismissing him quickly, Novena turned to her twin. "Plan. What is it, we don't have enough time."

"Right of course." He blinked clearing his throat. "When we snuck onto the ship that brought us here, I had time to read this journal. It mentioned a very powerful witch named Genevieve Ate. She and her coven lives in Gotham and I was planning on telling mother-"

"I get where you're going with this." Gavril cut in looking to Nikola. "This witch may know a spell to trap Adom correct?"

"Correct. All we have to do is get on a ship back to Gotham and find her." He replies "Novena, use your powers to influence the captain to letting us on board. It is important that we move quickly, Adom will catch up to us."

"Then let's go!" Gavril says dragging them through the woods.

They did eventually find Genevieve along with her coven. Just as they knew would happen, Adom followed.

Genevieve and her coven separated Adom from the dagger and separated the two. Never to be dug up again and the story of the horrible treachery he brought upon Gotham was just that. A story.
