Valarie POV

We ended up at some breakfast joint called 'Beverly Breakfast'
It was nice on the inside once we walked in. Damian picked a booth, not even waiting for the hostess to seat us. But he caught there attention anyway once we sat down.

"I'm Eleanor and I'll be your waitress. What can I get you to drink?" She asks.
"I'll have a sweet tea." I said and she writes it down.
"Water." Damian says, Eleanor nods and walks away.

Damian didn't give me another glance but shoved a menu in my direction.
"Pick out anything." He says coldly. I roll my eyes and squeeze my lips together, trying to keep my cool.

"Your not gonna make me eat from the kids menu?" I asked rhetorically.
He scoffs and flips the page, "If you want to, by all means, please do."

"Whatever..." I mutter.

I guess he was done looking because he slammed the menu shut and pushed it to the side. He crossed his fingers together and placed them on the table. I felt his eyes staring at me as I looked through the menu. Deciding between chicken tenders and waffles or Pancakes with eggs.

Damian constant staring made me uncomfortable and I looked up saying, "You need anything."
"You're going to sign over half the company." He said bluntly as the waitress came back with our drinks.

"Ready to order." she asks. I shake my head 'no' and stare at Damian with a look of dismay and dubiety.
"I'll give you a couple more minutes then." Eleanor says, then walks off.

Was he serious? Did he really think I would sign over my company after what he did to me last night. How he embarrassed me in front of my guests.
He must be on some type of drug that would make him say such a stupid and idiotic thing like that.

"Excuse me?" I say taking a sip of my tea.
"Don't play games woman." he says which makes me upset.
"What makes you think I'd ever do that? After what you did to me last night."

"The public already hates you, and I could give them another reason to." He says giving me cold stare that made my insides flinch.
"Oh? And what's that?" I say not expecting an answer.
"You  went drinking last night underage."

I swallowed. Of course he said that. Of course Damian played that card on me. Karma really had it out for me and I bet she was definitely getting a kick out of this.

"I dare you." I say back licking my lower lip.
"Woman, its not a dare if I can have it done by the end of the day."

"Is that a threat?" I ask very stunned by his tactics.
"He then replies with the same cold stare, "Its a promise that I intend to keep."
I take another sip of my tea and stand to my feet.

I can't believe this...he's such an asshole! Threatening me, my career my family name! He has some nerve to think less of me. To think I would ever do anything like that.

I glare at him and storm out. Forget about my clothes in his car and that I'm going to be walking home. Or the fact that my stomach was begging for food.

On second thought...I think I'll make a stop at Wendy's.

Damian POV

Getting up from my seat I walk out and see Valarie on the sidewalk trying to get a cab.
I went after her and stopped her from getting in.

"Yes or no." I ask. Valarie looks to me and shrugs.
"Does it really matter. You're going to do it regardless."
I let out a chuckle seeing that she doesn't understand what I was asking. My suspicion was correct, she was really that dumb. That stupid and idiotic to that she didn't understand.

"What's so funny." She asks as the cab driver rolls down the window.
"Aye lady, you getting in or what?" He asks.
"Woman if you just listen. It's a choice you have. If you sign over, what I know won't go to the press. Do you get that or do I need to use smaller words to get you to comprehend?"

I guess she was thinking about it but clearly I didn't know why. There was nothing to think about. It was a yes or no question.
"Lady look, I don't have all day." Says the driver getting annoyed.

I stepped aside and stood behind her.
"You step in that cab, your choice is made." I said folding my arms.

"I'll be staying here." She says to the driver, but her brown eyes still low key glaring at me with regret.
The driver drove off and I couldn't help but smirk. She made the right choice by trusting me.

"You made the right decision." I say
Her eyes looked at me with sincerity as she said, "I didn't have a choice, now did I."
I scoff and say, "Woman, everyone has choices. It's whether you make the right one, that's important."

"I still don't understand why you want this so bad. Why your family does."

"It's to benefit you. Not us." I replied.

"That doesn't explain why you want to help me. And why what I'm doing with my company bothers you so much."

"You're new to Gotham and the world of business. All I'm saying is that if you want people to respect you and take you seriously as a business woman, you need help. You clearly have not had any training and as I said before, your parents were fools."

"Damn you Damian Wayne." She mutters with venom lacing her voice.  Valarie paused and took a breath, "I didn't ask for this. V.E has been run by Ellington's for generations and my family is dead remember! And if you think I would ever let some board member or some other company buy me out, then I might as well have died with them."

I narrow my eyebrows in annoyance.
"As I said before, you made the right choice."

She took another deep breath and shut her eyes for a moment then replied, "What you're saying makes sense but let's just get one thing clear, the terms are to be decided together and I think it's in our best interest that we hold a press conference sometime this week to keep the people informed."

She gets dumber by second. Why wouldn't we tell the people? My father really has no idea what he's asking for. We've got our work cut out for us.

"Of course." I say, trying to keep my cool while I was slowly losing it due to her stupidity.

Just as she took a step forward a small object was heard whistling past us, "GET DOWN!"
Then the object came hurdling toward the side of the restaurant window, breaking it into a million pieces.

I looked to Valarie who was covering her self with her arms in a flinching position as a scream came from inside .

"What the hell..." She whispers looking up then seeing a heard of people leave the diner and a small gathering began to form around it.

"SHE'S BLEEDING!" shouted some guy from inside. Without any hesitation I ran inside and looked at the man who was holding some woman close to him. His clothes drenched in blood and as soon as I saw where the bullet had gone I knew it was to late.

"She's gone." I say.

No one survives a head shot.

No one.
