Chapter 11

I just wanna say how proud I am. This book is #3 in Damian Wayne! Like wow!!!!

Anyway,

This chapter is mostly going to be about Damian admitting his feelings about Valarie to Dick So...hope you enjoy.

Damian watched the front door open to Jason with a bucket of fried chicken, a large milkshake and fries.

"Babe I got your stuff." He shouts setting it down on the table. "Damian, where's Jack?"

Damian POV

"Changing. She had a nose bleed." I replied going back to my book. "oh yeah, suit up. You and my father are going on a little hunt."

"Sounds fun. My trigger finger has been itching for some excitement."

"Tell Bruce I want you back by dawn." Jack says kissing his cheek then heading for the fried chicken.

"Yes ma'am." He salutes. "I better not find grease stains on my hoodie." He pointed at the red one she was wearing. "Its my favorite."

"I make no promises." She mutters taking a bite of chicken as Jason heads for the bat cave. "You forgot something." She says making him run back.

"What did I forget?"
Jacklyn places a kiss on his lips.

"Forget it next time," she playfully hisses grabbing the collar of his jacket. "And I won't be as forgiving."

He then leans and whispers something in her ear. Jacklyn folded her lips and tried to hide the sinful smile on her face as she blushes.

"Stop it." Jack said punching him in the arm.

"When I get back." He says kissing her lips once again before she could protest.

"Get out." replies Jack looking at her feet still blushing. I laugh a bit as she takes a long sip of her milkshake.

Jack was happy. I remember her as a kid. She was always angry at everything, but I'm glad to see how she has something to fight for.

He waves then heads for the batcave.

"Do I even wanna know?" I ask flipping the page in my book.

"Nope." She replies, popping the 'p' then taking another long sip
"I wonder how caramel would taste."

I sit up, shutting my book. "On fried chicken?" I question.

"Heck yeah." Jack laughs grabbing caramel from the cupboard.

"Before you do. Let me take one of them." I say getting up to retrieve one.

"Help yourself." She says handing he the bucket.

Just as I grabbed one, Grayson walks out of the bat cave looking tired.

"Chicken? At this time if night?" He asks looking at me.

I shrug handing Jack the bucket back. "I've only had it once and that was when I was eleven. So yeah, of course I'm going to eat it."

He shrugged as I took a bite and I noticed the awkward silence. Dick and Jack weren't talking and they seemed distant.

"Bruce told me to tell you to look after Valarie for a while." Dick finally said looking to Jack who was drizzling caramel on the chicken.

"I'm not a baby sitter, Dick. She can afford her own body guard." Jack then replied coldly.

"Right now you're probably the only one she trusts. A body guard can only do so much." Dick said back rolling his eyes.

Putting my hands over my face I sighed and said, "Please Jack. Just until she finds something permanent. Someone out there is trying to kill her-"

"You should understand more than anyone." Dick cut in making her body tense up a bit.

"Shut up Richard." She then said sucking in her cheeks a bit and glaring. Turning to me Jack said, "I'll keep an eye on her, but we all know its going to be you that ends up protecting her. Valarie trusts you."

I nod my head and she does to.

"You need to talk to Jason about-"

"Stop telling me what I need, Dick." Jack sighed angrily. "Now, I suggest you both investigate the shooter. If someone is trying to kill her, they won't stop."

"I agree. I will go while you're out tomorrow with her. Maybe search her place." I said

"Good idea. Now if there isn't anything else, I will be in my room watching Real house wives enjoying my food." Jack grinned, gathering her things.

"Have fun." I shout as she walks up the steps.

Finishing my chicken I throw the bone at Dick who looked like he was in another dimension.

''Dude!" He exclaims and I chuckled.

"Whats with you. You're acting weird." I comment making him straighten his posture.

"Nothing." he says. "I'm just trying to figure out who to bring to the circus."

"Hayley's?" I question making him nod. "Sounds fun."

"I went by their today and they have a new trapeze artists. They call her the Golden Goddess and she's..."

"Intimidating?'' I smirked

"No!" He exclaims again shaking his head. "She's...she's just...I don't know. It feels like shes replacing my family. The way she performs is remarkable. Way to good." He says.

"Did you talk to her?" I asked

"Yeah. When she took off that mask...she's absolutely gorgeous. Like I've never seen anyone like her. A woman that hot should not exist."

We both laugh and I joke, "Grayson, you gotta little drool right there."

Throwing the pillow at me he flips me off. "Shut up." he chuckles. "All I'm saying is if I knew women from Bulgaria looked like that, I would have moved there ages ago."

Scoffing I say, "You hang out with Wally West, to much." I chuckled. "Did you catch her name?"

"No. She um, had to warm up for the next part." He stuttered

"Yeah right Grayson." I joke. "Translation, she didn't give you the time if day."

" I talked to Hayley. She has three brothers, two of them perform with her and the oldest one is their manager." Said Dick

"I think you're right. She trying to take over your family.'' Damian jokes

"Don't worry." he shrugged, straightening his posture. "I'll find out. Soon she won't be able to resist my charm.While we are on the subject of women, hows it with Valarie?"

Damian was quiet for a while. He didn't know how to explain what happened.

"We had a moment." He said making Dick lean forward

"Moment? Like what kind of moment?"

"Like a face to face...really close moment where I wanted to kiss her. And I think she did too." Damian replies

"Wow!" Dick sighed nodding his head approvingly. "Did you tell her-"

"No!" Damian cut in shaking his head. "I can't tell her."

"And why not?" Dick asks

"For starters shes...she's-"

"Nothing exactly! So you'll tell her. If not by the end of the week I will do it myself."

"You wouldn't dare?"

"Try me, Damian. I've never seen you more happy. Don't wait until its to late."
