Tristan and I were sat in the living room watching a movie, me curled up in sweatpants and a large sweatshirt while the boy had jeans and a gray hoodie. Every time Hunter saw the two of us together he'd always throw us a comment about "how cute" we were and it started to grow annoying. Tristan was just a friend and the both of us haven't even mentioned the kiss we shared which made it less awkward for us. We could hangout without problems, except when Hunter had to show up.
I was texting with Casey trying to come up with plans for later but she was always busy with her boyfriend Cole. Even though I was happy that she was in love I was still disappointed that we barely saw each other now. I was hanging around these guys all the time that I needed a girls night.
The apartment door opening caught our attention as we spun our heads around to watch Hunter stroll in, Luke behind him with a black hat facing backwards on the top of his hair. Stephanie waltzed in after.
"Hey Zoe!" she called out, seeming excited when she noticed me. Her bright smile followed her to the couch where she sat in between Tristan and I. "How are you dear?" she asked me, leaning in to give me a tight squeeze. I was surprised she even remembered me.
"I've been good how are you?" I replied to her.
"Great!" She then added with a whisper, "Luke asked me to go on a date the other night." She wasn't hiding her smile.
"That's great!"
"I think he's going to ask me to be his girlfriend soon," she winked and we both turned to look at Hunter and Luke who were discussing something.
"Are you doing anything later?" Stephanie asked me and asked if I wanted to go out with her tonight to a party her friend was having. I agreed and asked if I could bring a friend, thinking about forcing Casey to come along. Tristan looked over at me when Stephanie stood to go stand with Luke.
"What?" I laughed.
"Be careful at that party," he told me seriously, turning back to the TV. "I heard about that party, but I know a few kids that are going, and they're nothing but trouble."
"Like Blake?"
"Worse than him," Tristan replied and I wondered, who could be worse. But I shrugged it off nonetheless and leaned up against Tristan as we watched TV. He draped his arm around my frame and it felt comfortable, nothing more than a friendly cuddle. I knew Tristan wasn't interested in anything with me and I wasn't exactly looking to dig myself into a relationship either.
When it had been time for the party Casey was waiting outside and I was bouncing down the stairs with jeans and a black and white windbreaker. Hunter was in the kitchen shoving a hamburger down his pie hole when he noticed me and raised an eyebrow.
"Where are you going?"
"To a party," I replied. "Stephanie invited me."
"What the fuck," he cursed. "When were you going to tell me?"
"Are you my father?" I chuckled.
"You're not going to that party," he told me seriously so I scoffed. Before I could say anything he continued. "Stay home and read a book."
"Why?" I argued.
"I don't need a reason, my house my rules," he shrugged.
"That doesn't mean you can control me. Plus it's my house too now."
"You aren't going," he repeated but I rolled my eyes and opened the door anyways. He called my name but I didn't stop and instead slammed the door behind me.
