Hunter

I was beyond annoyed with Zoe leaving after specifically telling her it was too dangerous to return home. She was going to screw up the plan and get herself killed which in return will most likely get me killed as well. I was pacing back and forth in the kitchen biting my nails worrying so cruelly while waiting for Tyler to get back to me. I had been waiting too long that I decided to take matters into my own hands and call him but he never picked up which meant something was wrong and I had no idea what it could be. I was two seconds away from flying back and dealing with the situation myself. Of course, I wasn't ready to face my father but I did want his position. I wanted to be the one in charge because it was obvious he did not know what he was doing. The rules he enforced made no sense and for the fact he wanted to set me up just to get me killed was beyond foolish. It was like whenever Zoe showed up things began to run downhill.

I'd called Tyler three more times with no answer so I ended up doing the same thing Zoe had done without even thinking twice. I felt lucky when there was a seat available on a plane to get me home and the entire time sitting in the air I was fidgeting around in my seat until the older woman next to me asked if I could sit still. What did she want from me? I was sitting on this damn thing for a couple hours worrying the fuck out of myself because my girlfriend could be dead and my brother was too stupid to answer my phone calls.

Finally making it back to the city, I ordered a cab to take me back to the apartment where I'd grab a weapon and a bullet proof vest just in case. The plane ride combined with taxi rides felt like it took days when really it was probably just a few hours, but when I finally made it home I found myself running uncontrollably.

My apartment door was unlocked when I went to open it and that made me cautious so instead of busting in I peeked through a crack, but to my surprise I saw Tristan sitting on my couch alone. Was I supposed to just walk inside and be like, "hey I'm not dead. Surprise!" Fuck this was going to be bad.

I creaked open the door all the way to get his attention and when his eyes landed on me his expression was priceless. He looked as if he was watching an alien waltzed into his home just to grab a snack from the fridge. He was blinking a few times and rubbing his eyes but no matter how hard he did it I was still standing there.

"Hunter! What the fuck man."

"I know," I interrupted. "I'm alive and I can explain everything to you later but I need your help."

"No, you're going to explain what the fuck is going on right now!"

I rolled my eyes and ignored him then ran upstairs and into my bedroom. In my closet was where I kept my weapons so I grabbed a gun and my bullet proof vest. Tristan followed me and was standing as my shadow the entire time asking me questions while I still payed no mind. After I had strapped the vest under my shirt I slapped Tristan across the face to snap him out of his rant but it seemed to make him angry as his face got red and he slapped me back. Hard.

If I wasn't in a rush to find Zoe right now I'd probably beat the kids ass but I needed his help in finding her so I counted to ten and held my ground.

"Look Tristan Zoe is in danger and I need your help. The-"

"Zoe's alive too?" he yelled while throwing his hands in the air and huffing.

"Tristan! Will you fucking listen to me?" He became quiet again and stared at me with hatred. "You have to understand that telling everyone we were dead was the only way to protect all of us. We can't get into that now though, obviously since you didn't know Zoe was alive she must not have stopped here. We have to find her but first I have to find Tyler and he isn't answering."
