I decided I wanted Hunter to take me on a small dinner date so we ended up at a fancy restaurant away from the city area. It was Italian which I loved so to say I was happy was an understatement. The place was decorated in red and white walls with black marbled flooring and the dining area was seated under a bright white chandelier. My jaw nearly dropped when we stepped inside.
"This is really nice," I told Hunter when we were seated in a velvet red booth.
"My mother used to take us here for any type of celebration. The foods amazing."
I examined the menu carefully making sure I chose the right meal. Everything sounded beyond mouth watering and because I was so hungry I wanted to order everything. But then I saw the prices and my eyes widened.
"Don't worry about the cost," Hunter grumbled as if he read my mind.
When the waiter walked towards us he brought a bottle of wine and Hunter smiled at me. The wine was placed in a bucket of ice after being poured into two glasses for the both of us. It was delicious and romantic.
"Don't try to get me drunk," I laughed.
"You aren't getting drunk off one bottle of wine that you're splitting with me."
When we ordered our food Hunter and I sat there kind of awkwardly, me sipping my wine and mostly looking out the window. I didn't exactly know how to act now seeings how I was still slightly upset with the whole situation but he was trying to make it up to me so I couldn't have an attitude.
"Thanks again for taking me out, this is sweet."
"Yeah it's not everyday I take a girl on a dinner date so I don't really know how to act," he chuckled and twirled his finger around the glass.
"I've never really been taken out on a date so I feel you."
When our delicious looking food came a man dressed in a chef uniform followed behind the waiter with red cheeks and a wide grin on his chubby face. Hunter stood from the booth and welcomed the man in his arms.
"Hunter my boy!" The man greeted with a strong Italian accent.
"Joey how are you?"
"Fantastic, and now that I get to see your face I'm even better!" The mans enthusiasm made me smile. It was as if he saw his son who had been away at college for a year.
"Joey I'd like you to meet my girlfriend Zoe," Hunter announcer confusing the shit out of me. I was so stunned that I hadn't even realized everyone was looking at me now including the waiter.
"Hunter bringing a girl here?" The fat man yelled in surprise and immediately walked towards me when I stood from the booth to shake his hand but instead he pulled me in for a tight squeeze. "It's so very nice to meet you beautiful girl."
"You too Joey," I grinned.
"I will give you two a moment to eat, I promise you Zoe the food is spectacular."
When the gentlemen left Hunter and I alone I dug into the food and couldn't help but moan. It was absolutely delicious and I continued shoving the food into my mouth uncontrollably. I've never enjoyed a meal this fantastic in my life that I sighed when I finished it because I craved more. We were defiantly coming here more often.
"So is Joey a friend?" I asked Hunter wondering why he knew the chef so well.
"My mom is a very sweet lady and befriends everyone. She loved the food here so much that she had to compliment the chef so we got to know Joey a little more."
"Is he the owner?" Hunter nodded. "Well that food was damn delicious."
He smiled in satisfaction.
When Hunter was finished as well and the wine bottle was empty we spotted Joey returning with his normal smile and a plate with a giant piece of chocolate cake joined by two spoons.
"On the house for the lovely couple," Joey cheered and set the plate in front of us. I hadn't even thought of asking Hunter why he called me his girlfriend.
"Joey that food was the best I've ever tasted!" I bellowed and he sat next to me to drape his arm around my shoulder.
"I am so glad you liked it bello. You are more than welcome to come back any time with a free meal on me."
He kissed me on the cheek with his big wet lips but it made me smile so hard that my cheeks turned red. I loved the company of Joey. He brightened the room and filled me with his positivity. We all sat together Hunter and I finishing the slice of cake. It felt like we were talking with Joey for hours until Hunter asked for the check.
"It was so nice meeting you ragazza," Joey spoke to me as Hunter payed the bill. "You are welcome here any time. Stop in and bring that bello smile with you!"
It was my turn to kiss Joey on the cheek before he left for the kitchen once again. Hunter finished paying but made no move to leave as he smirked in my direction.
"I think he likes you," Hunter said. "Of course Joey likes everyone who compliments his cooking."
"He's such a sweet man."
Hunter suddenly seemed as if he were thinking for a second. Then he spoke, "I think we should try last night again."
"What?" I asked, feeling like I didn't hear him right.
"I want to try last night again with you. Only if you're up for it."
"You mean...sex?" I whispered and he nodded with a wink.
My mind raced with thoughts on what I should do. If we did have sex tonight he would win the satisfaction of me not being mad anymore. Maybe I should let the whole situation go and understand that Hunter has a temper that needs work. It was one slip up.
"Let's go," I cooed and we both quickly rushed to stand and get outside. I was holding onto Hunters arm when we stepped into the night and headed for his car across the parking lot. But we both came to a halt when a figure loomed in our path.
"Did you follow us?" Hunter snarled in the direction of Blake.
Blake stood with a smug look while his arms were crossed. He wore all black and looked as if he were a secret spy on some mission which probably was the case.
"You never know where I'll be Hunter. And it just so happens that I caught you two in the act. On a date? The boss will love to hear about this."
I was getting fed up with Blake and his stalking that I felt my fists start to clench and my heart was pacing. You know that feeling when you're just so mad you want to explode or you have such a hatred for someone that you just want to tell them off? Well this was how I was currently feeling and I ended up bursting.
"Why don't you fucking stay out of our business and worry about yourself? You're pathetic, taking orders all the time. You don't have an actual job, you don't have a girlfriend, you have no life. I did get a tattoo of Hunters name so can't you finally back off and leave us alone?"
I revealed the tattoo to him. It made me even more sick to see he had no reaction to my outburst but Hunter did. He was holding me back when I tried lunging towards Blake to punch him right in his smug face.
"Drake will be pleased to know this information," Blake spoke calmly with a pale smile.
When he disappeared I finally calmed down and let out a shaky breath of air while holding my head, suddenly feeling like I was going to pass out.
"Did I just make things worse?" I asked Hunter while he still held onto my hips.
"I'm not too sure." He didn't seem mad but he didn't seem happy either. All I could take in was he was worried.
There goes our night.
