Hunters secrets are spilling in this chapter (;

It was nearly ten at night when Hunter was knocking on my bedroom door. I'd been trying to fall asleep by drinking a warm glass of milk and reading one of the most boring books I had, but nothing seemed to work. I hadn't known exactly why my body refused to sleep but I did know it wasn't happening anytime soon.

"Yo I'm heading over to Luke's to pick up something," Hunter told me while poking his head in my room. Why the hell did I care? "So get dressed because you're coming with me."

"Wait what!" I called out when he started shutting the door. "Why do I have to come?"

"There's going to be alcohol and I don't trust myself," was his plain response. Even though I wasn't planning on going out tonight I thought it'd be better than torturing myself here wide awake. I changed into casual sweats and a black hoodie, running out of my room to catch up with Hunter just as he was exiting the apartment.

My relationship with Hunter was complicated but we made it work. He had secrets and I wanted to know them all, but I learned to just deal with his shenanigans and keep my mouth shut. It was better for the both of us. What was the point of always digging at each other's throats when we had to live together.

Hunter was most defiantly a complicated guy. One minute he was rolling his eyes and the next he was pinning me on the couch tickling me. I've learned his dangerous games and I know how to somewhat play back. One thing I knew for a fact was he needed anger management classes.

When we arrived outside of Lucas's house I was playing a game on my phone ready to wait and sit in the car, but Hunter wasn't moving.

"Come in," he told me.

"For what?"

"I might be a while," he replied and so I jeered and opened the car door.

I questioned in my mind why Hunter had really wanted me to come. I mean his excuse meant nothing because he didn't seem like the type to care if he was drunk while driving. I'm sure he was a pro by now. And when we stepped inside I finally realized why I was forced to come.

There in the living room sat Luke, Brandon and Tristan...with a girl planted directly on his lap. They were all drinking alcohol, laughing having a great time until they saw me. Tristan looked the most surprised and seemed to be frozen but I stood there not shocked at all. I'd seen this coming which was why I told myself to not get close.

With this moment feeling as awkward as it was I turned and walked out...nothing else came to my mind. I was halfway to the car when the door reopened and slammed shut again.

"Zoe!" Tristan called out. "Wait I can explain. Please stop!"

"You don't need to explain yourself!" I half laughed while turning around to face him. "We weren't anything so you can have as many girls as you'd like. So, get back in there and have fun."

When I was about to turn around again he snagged my arm and pulled me back. "No Zoe that meant nothing. Ever since I've been spending more time with you I felt something different. That girl is nothing to me, I've never felt this with anyone else."

He was full of shit and I wasn't believing it. But I meant what I said, we weren't anything and he could have as much fun as he wanted. Tristan was going to stay a friend from now on and I was going to learn to control myself because I wasn't here to purposely get my heart torn. Even though it pained me to see another girl on the boys lap I told myself it wasn't anything to upset myself over.
