"Hunter where's the cream cheese?" I called out from the kitchen. Hopefully he was close enough to hear me because this cabin was huge.

"It should be in the second bottom drawer!" He answered but his voice was distant.

"It's not there!" I whined.

"We must be out then."

I groaned. "Guess I'll just have to use butter," I mumbled to myself.

I spread butter against the crisp bagel I prepared for myself this morning. Even though I was craving cream cheese instead I had no other option. We barely had any more food in the house and because of that we were going to have to be cautious while going into town to receive more. It would be the first time we went out for food. On our way here the first night, Hunter made sure to stock up at the grocery store so we wouldn't have to leave constantly. It was safer to stay here. But at least the cabin was connected to its long dirt driveway surrounded by thick trees and a beautiful pond. That way we could enjoy the outdoors as well not really needing to worry about trespassers because it was so hidden.

I enjoyed telling myself this was more of a vacation than anything else. It helped me to forget that we were only doing this to protect ourselves from getting killed. Hunter also helped because he acted as if everything was normal and never showed me he was feeling worried or stressed. I did miss my friends dearly and I prayed every night that they were safe and doing fine without me, even though I knew some were most likely a wreck. Tyler told us things were fine back home and everyone was safe because Drake apparently didn't even mention the deaths. What a bitch.

"Hello gorgeous," Hunter smiled when he stepped into the kitchen as I stuffed my mouth with the bagel. "I was thinking we can take the kayaks on the pond today and go fishing. Maybe we can take dip later too. It's supposed to be hot today."

"Sounds good to me," I grinned.

Hunter and I rode in different kayaks and while he caught five fish already I caught none. "How the hell do you do that so easily?" I grumbled while reeling in more shit from the bottom of the water, fooling myself again into thinking I caught a fish.

"This is your first-time fishing doll, unlike me who's a pro." Hunter grinned while I only stuck my tongue out towards his smug look.

I casted my line out once more and kept telling myself that this time I would catch something. Anything! Even if it was something tiny. And then, my pole started to tug and I got way too excited.

"Hunter, I think I got one!" I yelled while tugging on the pole. I was thrashing around so much in my boat that I didn't even realize my clothes began to get wet. When I was so close to receiving the hook, I ended up tipping myself and my whole body splashed in the water.

When I surfaced above the water Hunter was laughing above me while pushing his kayak towards me. "Oh man that was so funny to watch!"

Fed up with his crap, I pushed on the side of his boat until he told me to stop but I wouldn't listen. Instead I felt victory when he fell sideways and splashed into the pond with me. I didn't see him rise above water for a few moments which worries me. Did he hit his head and fall unconscious under the water? Oh shit did I kill him? I wasn't capable of dragging his heavy body out of the water!

I screamed when something caught my ankle and dragged me under the water, and realizing it was Hunter I slapped his arm when we both swam to the top again.

"Don't scare me like that!" I laughed and clung to his shoulders when I began to feel tired from keeping myself afloat.

"I think it's time we get out of these wet clothes," Hunter read my mind.
