if i was a star
i wouldn't be part of a constellation
i'm always too far
no naked eye can see me
use a telescope
maybe then you'll believe
the world is so much bigger than your own
there are stars you can't see
and things that hurt much more than a broken bone
you may be content, others may not
sometimes we want so much more
adventures may be wildly sought
for how can we be okay
knowing just our world
when there's so much out there
and our stories have only begun to unfold
i am a star
and i have lived billions of years
just a bit too far
and although i've lived so long
my story has hardly begun
my book may not be the most fun
but that's okay
because i'm only on chapter one
