pine overcoat
you wear it well
in the water you did float
took two weeks but you were found
in the water
safe and sound
the boys wearing blue
they blamed me
and i swore it wasn't true
i lied
you just looked so beautiful
i took you for a ride
and stopped where no one could see
i wanted you all to myself
and i know no one could've stopped me
i promised your family it was quick
but it didn't help... in fact,
they didn't seem happy you were the one i picked
i could've chosen anyone
but i chose you
and now they're ruining all that fun
they called me a monster
i laughed at them
then i heard a man say "arrest her"
they tied my hands in metal
and drove me away
they told me i could no longer meddle
they didn't understand
i did it because i loved you
i had to, even when you ran
i had to because we were meant to be
or maybe that's just what i need to tell myself
i cant leave this fantasy
