you said you loved me
but you plucked me
from the ground
because i was lovely
you said you'd water me daily
but that routine was quickly derailing
for salvation you left me praying
in my garden alone slowly straying
while my heart was gently breaking
and you were loudly taking
whatever came your way left you gaping
you nearly stepped on me a couple hundred times
i'm powerless to make you pay for your crimes
guess it's my fault for not noticing the signs
never seeing how you take whatever catches your eyes
nothing means anything if it isn't a pretty sight
this pot is getting a little too tight
i wish that i could see the sunlight
my petals turned from red to white
you promised you wouldn't bite
i cant believe that they were right
and now i can't even fight
baby why'd you lie to me like this
my heart was full of bliss
but it was written in our first kiss
that it would always end like this
