once upon a time
is how it always starts
it's always so beautiful
until it begins tearing you apart
princess this and princess that
forget the tower and the poison
don't be such a brat
after all, you got your prince
"isn't that all that matters?"
they might ask
it's all you hear amongst their chatter
but of course you don't respond
"he saved you"
of course he did
but the scars remain
and they're ever so big
he creates new ones
swearing i owe him
"repay him for all that he's done!"
it seems i went from one prison to the next
and truly, i hate him
