Ed looked at the rain, watching as it slammed in his apartment windows in New York. Emily ran into their apartment, soaking wet.

"Oh my god, are you alright?" Ed asked.

"Shot, um, yeah. I just, um... I..." Emily sighed.

"I lost my pills..." Emily looked down. "They fell out of my pocket and went into a sewer..." Ed looked at her.

"Do we need to... go see the doctor?" Ed asked. "I think we should."

"Yeah. Me too. But that's all the way in London." Ed sighed. "London."

"I-I-I know and I'm sorry. We can miss a few days-"

"Emily, you know we can't. You know this." Emily sighed.

"Make it rain pills, Ed. Can you?"

"Ed, how do you put up with it? An insane girlfriend?" Ed chuckled.

"You're not... insane."

"Yes, Ed, I am. Ed, how many people have to take pills to make sure they don't end up in a mental hospital. Or worse. Put someone else in a hospital." Ed laughed lightly.

"What did I do to deserve somebody like you?" Ed asked. Emily opened her mouth. "I mean someone so perfect and someone so amazing. I wasn't expecting you. I was expecting... a... you. I wasn't expecting something so amazing."

"Thank you, Ed." The doctor walked in their hospital room.

"Emily, how have you been feeling?" The doctor asked.

"I've been feeling like I don't need those pills anymore," Emily replied, Ed, nudging her shoulder. "I'm being serious!"

"Emily, you're still going to need to take them." The doctor told her. She groaned. "I understand that you don't like them, but you still need to take them. It's safe for someone like you."

"Meaning?"

"Meaning that your brain is a little different. with everything that you've been through, your brain takes things rather differently. You know pain better than most people, so if you stop taking them, you may end up hurting someone as much as you were hurt." Emily looked at Ed.

"So... if I didn't take them... I might murder my boyfriend?"

"It is possible. It would depend on how long it was that you didn't take them." Emily sighed.

"Make it rain then."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Why have you been saying that lately? That rain thing."
"I mean by that... I mean to make it rain. Make water pour down on me. I mean to make everything get worse and yet it can't. Without rain, there is no rainbow, you know?" Ed sighed.
"The sound is... interesting."
"Yeah. I know."
~~~~~~~~~~~~

The rain was pouring in London. Emily looked out the window of her bedroom, staring at the rain as it fell.

"You alright?" Ed asked, walking in after he showered.

"Just thinking." Emily looked at Ed. "I wish for it to rain. For when the sins of my dad weigh in my soul, and the pain my mom brought me won't go. I know fire comes from the sky; the sun. And the fire brings me pain. People need the sun to live, and it's hard to do that sometimes. SO I hope for it to rain.

"The seeds in the ground need water before it grows. But without rain, nothing comes. It gets harder. Which leads to hunger, and hunger more profound. I cry for the hungry, Because they're in vain, and tears come with pain."
