Harry's POV

Harry was the last to breakfast again.

When he sat down across from Hexa, who sat next to Draco (it seemed he liked to switch back and forth from sitting next to him and her during meals frequently), in his usual spot, he saw a Hufflepuff with brown hair and hazel eyes standing in the doorway, gaping and looking between him and Hexa.

Hexa didn't seem to notice the other girl, talking deeply with Draco about . . . something . . . so he reached out and gently squeezed her hand to get her attention.

She abruptly stopped talking, and Harry took the chance to ask his question.

"Hexa, who's that?"

"Uh. . ," she said intelligently, staring at his hand clasped around hers. She had to tear her eyes from it and recovered quickly when she saw the girl standing in the doorway. She smiled happily. "That's my roommate, Abigail. Remember I was telling you about her? Yeah, I got annoyed at her last night, and I offered to help her get a more reliable source for her awful, repetitive, and exaggerated stories she tells about you almost every night. She said, 'Like what?' and I said you, Harry. She said you'd never talk to us, and I got a little carried away in my smugness and told her she was wrong; you'd never talk to her. And also to watch where I sit at meals, because I knew she wouldn't believe me if I told her I was friends with you."

She looked at the door again and giggled. "She looks like a fish out of water!"

She and Harry started laughing along with Draco, whom had started laughing halfway through her story.

"We taught her so well, Harry," he said in between chuckles.

"What, to fight with whoever annoys me the most?" Hexa teased, her laughs reduced to some minimal giggling.

"That sums it up well," Harry said, letting some more peels of laughter escape him.

"Oh, hey, she's coming over! Compose yourselves!" Hexa almost whispered.

Sure enough, Abigail flounced over, sitting next to Harry.

"Hello!" she said. "Hexy! Wanna introduce me to your friends here?"

No, she thought. Would you like to learn my name correctly?

"Hexa," she corrected instead.

"I know your name, silly!" Abigail said, obviously bluffing the way her cheeks colored slightly. "That's the nickname I gave you!"

"Don't call her that," Draco said coldly before she could answer.

"Anyway, Draco, Harry, this is Abigail."

"Nice to meet you!" Abigail exclaimed. Did she have to end all her sentences with exclamation points, Hexa thought.

"I'm Hexy's roommate," she continued. Draco glared. So did Harry, but more subtly. "We're like best friends. You know, there's that Hogsmeade trip today. Maybe the four of us could all go together!"

Draco narrowed his eyes at the girl. "If you're such good friends with her," he said, "then answer these questions for Harry and I. What are her favorite colors?"

"She only has one–purple. A lavender color."

Harry asked the next. He and Draco seemed to be taking turns. "Favorite animal?"

"Rabbits, obviously."

"Uh-huh. And how about he favorite classes?"

"Arithmancy and divination," she said definitely.
