Harry's POV
Ron and Hermione left early the next morning, even before breakfast, which made Ron super grumpy. He hated both–getting up early and not getting to eat.
They said their goodbyes and Hermione made Harry promise to send them a letter about the secret admirer thing every day. Harry was only somewhat surprised by her intense interest in it.
At breakfast, the seventeen students shared one table in the great hall, seeing as there were so few of them and it was plenty of room to fit them all.
Harry plopped down across from Draco, who was sitting at the very end of the table, closest to the doors and distancing them greatly from the rest of the students who didn't leave Hogwarts for the holidays.
"Do you know any of these people?" he asked him.
"No," Draco admitted. "Do you?"
"Nuh-uh. I wonder which is my secret admirer. Seeing as I don't know any of them makes it significantly more difficult to figure out who it might be. I wonder if they'll give me clues in their notes."
"Ah, your admirer. Maybe one of those Gryffindor twins, or even both of them? As for hints, I think it's a bit early for them to narrow down the so few students that are left."
"Hm. I don't know, Draco. About the other Gryffindors, I mean. It won't be too long until I figure it out. It won't be a terrible surprise, I guess, but I would like it more if I knew the person."
Draco smiled a little. Harry didn't notice. "Yeah. What if you socialized with all of the students, get to know them better. Then it would be better. Unless you end up hating the person."
"I don't think I'd enjoy socializing with a whole bunch of students more than two years younger than me. I feel like it'd either get awkward, or they'd go around telling everyone that I'd tried making small talk with them. Pass the toast, please?"
As he did, Draco looked up and saw that the owls were starting to fly in. One dropped a package in front of Harry.
He opened it.
"What is it?" Draco asked, knowing perfectly well what Harry'd gotten.
Harry held up his new bottle of cologne, while he continued reading the letter, laughing slightly. Then he read it out loud to Draco.
"It says, Dear Harry, I didn't know which cologne you liked, so I guessed. I think it smells awful, so I assumed it would appeal to you. I hope it does. Have fun annoying people with your awful scent. Until tomorrow. ~Anonymous. What I find funny is that I do actually like this brand of cologne."
Draco sniffed the bottle of cologne before hurriedly handing it back over to Harry.
"You know, whomever this person is, I feel like we'd get along great. We already have so much in common," he said.
"Oh, yeah, like what?" Harry asked as he dabbed on a little of the cologne.
"We both hate the way your cologne smells. That alone means we have tons in common," Draco said dryly.
Harry laughed. "Are you sure it's not because you both absolutely adore me?" he teased.
Draco swore his heart stopped beating for a moment, as that was just so close to the truth, before recovering and answering.
"They might, but just because I agreed to a friendship with you does not mean I adore you, Potter. In fact, the very fact that you're wearing that cheap, awfully-fumed cologne completely repulses me."
"Fine; be like that," Harry said. "If I repulse you so much, maybe I should leave and sit with the twins instead."
Draco wrinkled his nose. "That would torture you more than I."
Harry ignored him, got up . . . and made Draco jump when he plopped down (rather loudly and suddenly) right next to him.
"You thought I was actually going to sit with them, didn't you, Draco?" he asked, grinning.
"Of course not, Potter," he lied.
"Liar," he proclaimed, grinning wider, if that was possible. "And it's Har-ry!" He sang his name.
"I know. Potter just sounds better, especially when I say it, because that's all I called you for the past seven years. Well, that and multiple insulting names and things, of course."
"OH," Harry said loudly. "When you say my last name it sounds especially good, does it?"
Draco struggled to keep a straight face, whether from smiling or frowning, though, he couldn't figure out.
"Yes, it does," he said, standing. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go study. I'll be in the library."
"Meet me at the Quidditch Pitch an hour before lunch," Harry said. "Or I will come looking for you."
"Noted," Draco said, and then he was gone.
(Still Harry's POV)
After finishing his breakfast, Harry headed back up to his dorm room.
He sat down at the desk, grabbed a quill, ink, and parchment, and wrote to Hermione and Ron.
Dear Ron and Hermione,
Today I got some cologne as a gift, and another note telling me they hated how it smelled, and that's how they knew I'd like it. Which I do, actually. Sounds like Ma Draco, doesn't it? He said he'd probably get along great with the person. Speaking of Draco, we're talking and laughing like we've been friends as long us us three have been, rather than spitting insults like enemies. I must say, it's a nice change. Write soon!

He folded it up, stuck it in an envelope, and handed it to Hedwig [A/N–– Let's please pretend Hedwig didn't die! Please!] to take to his friends.
Draco's POV
Draco was in the library, studying. Mostly arithmancy, but also some potions and transfiguration.
"Boo!" someone whispered in his ear. He jumped, and in less than two seconds, his wand was tucked under Harry's chin.
"Okay, I figured you don't like being interrupted when studying, but this is a bit extreme," he said.
"Potter!" Draco hissed. "Why the hell are you sneaking up behind me?"
"I told you I'd come find you if you didn't meet me for flying," he answered with a shrug.
Draco finally lowered his wand as he checked his watch. "Is it really that time? I've been studying for three hours?"
"Yep. But now you are going to put your books away and come flying with me until it's lunchtime."
"Fine," Draco said. "But not if that stupid snagging screen is going to make us, well, song again."
Harry shook his head. "Nah, it's only turned on for real Quidditch matches."
"Alright, but help me put the books away first."
"Right."
(I'm stopping here because first I have the amazing magical author powers and second because it would be really boring, so let's just time skip to Day Three)
