Hexa's POV
Hexa blinked and blearily looked at her bedside clock when she woke up the next morning. Her eyes shot open when she saw the lights on the screen.
7:30.
She always woke up around 6:45. How could she have slept for forty-five more minutes?
Oh. She'd forgotten to set her alarm. But even then, her body had gotten used to waking up early, and often beat her alarm and turned it off before it started beeping and woke all her roommates up.
Oh, well. She would skip her whole morning routine and just do her hair and dress in her normal clothes (A/N Over breaks I made up a rule where they're allowed to wear whatever they want instead of robes. She's the only character who does, pretty much.) instead of all her excess little details she would do on a normal day.
On her way to breakfast, she was stopped by Abigail, who practically cornered her in the otherwise empty corridor.
"I can't believe you!" she cried before Hexa could so much as ask what it was all about. "You said he'd tell me about how he defeated You-Know-Who!"
"Abigail," Hexa said, calm despite the situation, "I tried to tell you––"
"You let them gang up on me!" Abigail pouted.
"They were sticking up for me, Abigail. They knew you were lying. It's not my fault they decided to test your trustworthiness; they obviously didn't appreciate you lying just to get close to Harry for selfish reasons. I had nothing to do with it."
"'They,'" she humphed. "Who was that blonde anyway? Your boyfriend or something?" It was clear from the look on her face that she thought Hexa having a boyfriend was the least likely thing in the world. That's when Draco showed up. Neither girl noticed.
"What?" Hexa spluttered, too shocked to even giggle. "Draco? My boyfriend? Oh, gods."
"He wrapped his arm around your waist!" Abigail said accusingly.
"I'm not dating Draco," Hexa said, slowly, calmly. "Why is it you're cornering me like this?"
"You shouldn't have made me look like a total bitch in front of Harry!" she shouted. Hexa visibly shrunk, unafraid, but she didn't like it when people yelled at her. Draco clenched his fist, stepping towards them. The two roommates noticed him for the first time.
"I don't think it was Hexa who did that," he said meanly with narrowed eyes. Harry showed up behind him.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"This bitchy roommate of Hexa's thinks it was Hexa's fault you don't like her." Draco sneered. Harry scowled.
"I thought she did that herself," Harry said with an angered and disgusted tinge to his voice.
The two took a few quickening steps forward, but stopped abruptly about a yard away when Hexa firmly stated, "No."
Harry and Draco's angry expressions melted to quizzical ones.
"No . . . what?" Harry asked slowly, even though they both already had a feeling what she was going to say.
"No, don't be my over-protective, bodyguard-like friends," Hexa said. "You don't have to take care of my problems; I can handle this myself. Head off to breakfast, I'll be there in a few minutes, right?"
They hesitated, and then winced when she narrowed her eyes and shot them each a cold look. "Now."
"Hexa," Draco tried softly and slightly exasperated.
