Connor's playful smirk, and sparkling eyes made me laugh on the inside. He though this was going to be easy.
I felt as if I needed to prove something to him, prove that a female does not need her mate to make her stronger, that a female could lead just as damn well as a male could, and that I was going to kick his ass, mate or not.
"Melony, we don't have to do this." His lips tugged up in a smile that teased me. I wanted nothing more than to punch him in the face, yet another part of me wanted to kiss his taunting lips until they were bruised.
"You may not have to do this, but I do, for my pack." I argued. There was no way in hell I would willingly talk to him.
Jake chuckled to himself as he watched Connor try to tease me. I winked at him and I knew he could sense the payback rolling off of me.
The other to men to our left were still struggling to keep the rogue held down, there eyes confused and curious as to why their Alpha's mate was about to fight him.
"Melony, seriously all we have to do is talk." He laughed. His deep voice almost forced me to throw my aching body at him, but I held back.
"I'm tired of talking." I growled. "I just want to fight. Are we doing this in wolf form or human?" I asked, trying to speed the process along. Graham would get worried soon and come looking for me.
"Fine, fine. We will do it in human form." He sighed putting his hands out.
I watched his muscles flex as his lifted his shirt up to reveal a perfectly toned body, and even though I felt the need to run my hands up and down it, I just glared at him.
"Was that really necessary?" I grunted as I threw my hair up into a ponytail.
"I don't see a lot of fighting." Jake smirked and started laughing to himself.
I rolled my eyes at him while I put my fists up in front of my face. Connor was a good fighter from what I remembered, but I could still take him.
"Melony I don't want to hurt you-"
"Connor if you don't shut the hell up I will knock you out." I growled. I was getting impatient, and I wanted this nightmare to end.
"Fine, fine." He put his hands up in the air and I snarled at him.
This is going to be for everything you did to me. All the lies, and the misery, and grief that you put me through. This is for your own good.
My mind was going crazy with revenge. Every move he made, every look he have me, mocked me.
I let him take the first move, I always did. I needed to watch the prey before I could become the predator. He had long, swift legs, making him fast. But his movements came a little slower than his speed.
He lunged at me and went to throw a punch at my face. I grabbed his hand and roughly threw him to the ground.
He shook his head and looked up at me surprised.
Didn't see that coming did you jackass?
I couldn't help the smirk that was plastered on my face. I wanted to laugh at the state he was in, but the fight wasn't over yet.
He quickly got back up to his feet and brushed off his pants, even though they would just get dirty again.
He kicked his leg at me and I quickly dodged it, by swooping my head underneath it. As I came up I landed a hard blow to his stomach, that had him gasping for air.
