(Sorry, this is a really long chapter)

I hadn't seen or heard from Roman Godfrey since his mum had slapped me and mum never wanted me going there again. 7 Years had passed and I was now 14, Roman would be 15. He's probably forgotten about me and is popular with all his money and nice clothes, he probably doesn't even remember me or the last time we saw each other. It didn't really bother me it's just what people say, you always remember your first friend, and I did, and this year I'd be starting my first year in Hemlock Grove high school and mum had heard Roman Godfrey already went there, this would be his second year. That made me kinda nervous, like if I bumped into him or something.

I brushed my teeth and left my hair messy as I always forgot to brush it. I didn't wear makeup as I'd never been allowed it, mum's orders, didn't know how to use it anyway and didn't have any other friends since Roman. I've always been the quiet one no one talked to. I luckily didn't have to catch the bus, that would've made my whole situation worse than it already was.
"Got your lunch?"
Mum asked for the second time this morning.
"Uh huh."
I huffed, I hated school and mum knew it. I clambered into the front seat of mum's car and she drove me the short journey to hell.
"Bye hun. Text me when you're finished so I can pick you up."
"Ok thanks."
I replied before shutting the car door and heading toward the gates with my backpack and denim jacket wrapped around me.

There were kids everywhere it was overwhelming compared to my old school where everyone knew everyone. I headed straight to reception to get my timetable and locker key. Once I'd collected both, I went to hunt down my locker. I walked the hallways feeling smaller than ever, I was only 5'3 and felt like already the school was against me. Once I got to my locker, I put the books I didn't need in there and my sport kit as thank god, I didn't have gym on my timetable for today, then closed it, looking at what lesson I had now. Before I could unfold the timetable in my hand I jumped as I heard the loud sound of people being knocked against the lockers. I looked ahead, not far from where I was standing and saw 2 boys pinned up against the lockers looking like they were gonna piss themselves. A much taller guy was holding the both of them up by their collars while 4 or 5 boys behind him were laughing and egging him on. He then released them and turned to me as I guess my staring in the middle of the hall was kinda obvious but I quickly turned away and power walked to my first lesson, maths. My favourite (not).

After my first two lessons were over, it was break. I never liked break as I had no one to spend it with and was always the sad kid who looked forward to the sound of the bell for the end of it. I decided to check out the cafeteria which took a bit of courage for me as I swear everyone spends their time there. I entered the large room and people were like ants everywhere. Groups and cliques sat at every table. I went to the gigantic cue of people waiting to pay for their lunches and waited patiently in line when I heard a name I instantly recognised.
"Hey! Didn't you hear me? I'm a Godfrey, which means I can skip the fucking cue whenever I want."
I only saw the back of the guy who'd spoken but it couldn't have been Roman, he would never be like that, though it was 7 years ago. Maybe he had a cousin here? He didn't turn round. He just went straight to the front of the cue and left.
"Fuckin prick."
I heard the kid mutter once the tall boy had left after yelling at him.

After I'd spent a year in the cue waiting to pay for my one diet Pepsi, I finally left the hot, deafening cafeteria. I decided to play it safe and go find an empty classroom to eat in away from the crowds of people, if that were possible. I managed to find a classroom that only had two people in it and one had fallen asleep and the other had his head down working. There was no teacher so I guessed it was ok to come in. I pulled a chair out and the boy who was writing looked up at the sound of the chair legs hitting the table. He looked at me then kind of grimaced before continuing writing to what was actually the desk. I sat down and glanced back at the boy scribbling. He seemed familiar, like I'd seen him before. He had longish dark blonde almost brown hair gelled to the side, pink full lips and huge green eyes that kept glancing at the clock towards the door so I got a fairly good look at him. He was wearing nice shoes and fitted black jeans with a dark grey shirt with the top buttons undone revealing part of his collarbone. He caught my gaze and I quickly, might I add awkwardly looked down at the still unopened diet Pepsi in my hands on the desk.
