Today I decided me and Roman needed a day together, to take a break and breathe for a bit without anyone bothering us. We dressed and went out into town to get breakfast. Once we'd finished we left and right as we turned the street corner we bumped into Peter.
"Peter?"
I said as my eyes scanned over him. He looked a little nervous but gave a small smile, glancing quickly at Roman, the ground and me.
"H, hey, hey Naomi. Roman."
Peter gave a small nod as did Roman. Suddenly an idea crossed my mind, Roman and Peter needed to talk this out before anything else. I knew Roman missed Peter, and the other way round and they needed to fix this.
"Listen. We've lost too much, all of us. I want you two to fix this. I'm not an idiot and I know you both miss how things were before. I'll meet you both in an hour, then we'll finish our day Roman."
Then I kissed Roman's shocked face and have Peter a reassuring smile before heading to a different part of town.(Roman's point of view):
I stood on the spot in utter disbelief as I watched Naomi hastily stroll off leaving me and Peter stood in a deafening silence in the crispy breeze. I eventually turned to Peter who was just as in shock and awkwardness as I was as his eyes moved from Naomi's disappearing figure to me.
"So.."
Peter said clearly as uncomfortable as I was as his dull eyes could barely rest on mine.
"Guess we should find a bar or something, she's clearly going to be gone a while and I'm not wasting my time freezing my ass off out here."
I began heading in the direction of the nearest bar, knowing Peter would follow because he was desperate. We made it to the pub and took the two free seats at the bar.
"You still need that money?"
I said after ordering two shots of whiskey for us.
"Well, I'm finding a way to get it, but-"
"Figures.."
I interrupted before tipping my shot glass back and finishing the whiskey in one go.
"Roman, I get it ok, I get it."
Peter said in more of a firmer tone, turning to finally face me.
"Yeah, get what?"
I snapped frustratedly turning to face him.
"I get that it looked bad, the way I showed up asking for a load of money after running out on you when you needed me most. I needed you too but I had to leave, I had to get away, and then all this shit with Linda started happening and everything started drowning me. I needed help and didn't have anyone else to go to. I wanted to see you again Roman, not in that circumstance but my mother was all that was on my mind at the time. It was wrong and I'm sorry. I miss what we had. You meant a lot to me while I was here."
I was trying to take all this in at the pace Peter was going and some part of me felt sympathy, still rage at his coward ness but I got it, it was a part of Peter I could never change. Unfortunately. But he was right, we were there for each other when we needed it at the time, but things got so incredibly fucked up so fast that it was completely out of our hands. Out of anyone's."Shee-it."
Is all I could say, releasing a breath and chucking back the last whiskey shot before turning back to Peter who said the same thing, running a hand through his messy rugged hair.
"Look, I'll help you out, but if you fuckin run out on me again-"
"I won't. You have my word."
Peter interrupted, his hand pushed toward me seriously. I hesitated but eventually shook his hand and we stayed for a couple more drinks.(Naomi's point of view):
I was heading toward the pub Roman had texted me him and Peter were in carrying some bags of food and two bags of clothes. They'd been two hours so I take it the talk must've gone ok at least. As I was about to cross the road to go in, I saw Roman with his arm round Peter's shoulders as they both stumbled out slightly hunched over looking completely pissed. I was relieved they were ok though and made my way over to them to help them to my car.
"Hey baby."
Roman mumbled as I put my arm round his waist, leading them both over the road to the car and helping them in.
"Ok I think maybe we should head back to yours Roman."
I asked, turning to look at him before putting the keys in ignition and starting up the car.
"You do whatever you want."
Roman slurred with a chuckle. I smirked to myself looking at him all weary eyed and goofy. I loved my stupid drunk Roman.Once back at Roman's pale I had to help both the boys out the car one after the other to the front door before unlocking it and having the maid help me get them inside. They both collapsed on the couch and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"I swear having a boyfriend is like having a stupid son."
I mumbled making Roman give me a glare only making me chuckle at his pouty face.
"You guys need some water. It'll sober you up."
I called out as I walked into the kitchen, excusing the maid. I came back into the room to find both the boys passed out, Peter's head on Roman's shoulder. I put the waters down and whipped out my phone to snap a few shots before placing a blanket over them and heading upstairs.
