(20) Wedding Prepreation Surprise

 The engagement was talked about throughout the fans for weeks after it happened. Felix had filmed it from the audience so Jack and I made a vlog about it for our joint youtube. So besides the baby updates the joint youtube started to include wedding preparation videos. I took the camera to vlog when I went to go look at flowers and Jack made sure he had it when we went to go shoot engagement pictures and when he surprised me by flying my best friend from growing up, (B/F/N), to Brighton to help me start looking at dresses for a weekend. Which we had narrowed down to 3 top dressed that we would use to look next time all the girls are around.

Jack and I already knew we weren't going to be getting married before the baby came so we planned the wedding to happen a few months after our little Sammy would be born. So we took the wedding preparation slowly. Molly, who I had been emailing alot for advice, had become our pre-wedding planner. She helped us get organized while we looked for an actual wedding planner who ended up being this amazing elderly man named Alfie Jackson. After working with Alfie we had picked our wedding to be in London, somewhere both sides of our family could get to. We had also took a small trip to London to look at the venues. Alfie had found a bakery that had a shop in London and in Brighton which made it easier for us to go cake tasting which was what we were going to do today.

Jack and I were seated at a table with many different cakes in front of us. Sammy must have been excited as I was because the little one was kicking. Jack and I had already tasted a lemon cake which neither of us were very fond of. We moved on to another and then another. We moved through the cake flavours with ease and excitement. We came down to the classic three flavours of cake; chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet. By now Sam's kicking had stopped and I was taking another bite of the chocolate cake when I felt a sudden pain. I set down the fork not wanting to be too alarming but then it happened again and I reached out to grab Jack's hand. Jack looked over at me then turned back to continue talking to the baker. But when it seemed that my discomfort look registered in his head Jack stopped talking and quickly turned to face me.

"Are you alright? What's wrong?" Jack quickly asked holding my hand and brushing my hair back. I let out an uncomfortable sigh at the unknown pain I was suddenly feeling. "Is Sam kicking too much again?" Jack kept asking questions that I shook my head not to. "I don't know Sean, I've never felt this before. It hurts." I replied taking a deep breath. Jack turned to the baker and quickly apologizes before standing and helping me to my feet. "Come on let's take you to the hospital to get checked out.

Jack helped me to the car and drove us to the hospital where there was no wait at all. We went back and the doctor did a quick examination. "When was the last time you drank some water Ms. Fischbach?" The doctor asked me after the examination. "Um it's been a couple hours I guess. I haven't really thought about it." I answered him. The doctor nodded and smiles at Jack and I. "Well the good this is nothing is wrong. What you are experiencing is just Braxton Hicks. Some woman confuse them for contractions but you're still under 37 weeks. You're feeling them more because you're dehydrated. Once you drink some water they should dull down and go away." The doctor explained. Jack let out a sigh of relief and smiled. "Thank goodness," Jack commented and kissed my head. I smiled up at Jack and thanked the doctor. The doctor excused himself and left the room. Jack and I left soon after and headed home. The hicks had already stopped by the time we left the hospital but I still made sure to drink some water when we got home. Jack vowed that he would make sure I drank so much water that I would become a fish. Once I was settled on the couch with a large glass of water Jack called the bakery to schedule a time for us to finish out cake testing. Once he was off the phone he came to sit at my side and watch some tv with me. Our wedding plans were on the way and Sammy would be here sooner than we knew it. Everything was coming together before our eyes, it was only a matter of time.
