"No," came a voice from behind Morgana.

We all turned slightly to get a glimpse of the speaker, a gasp escaping each of us, though for different reasons. I heard Cassandra stumble behind me, and Ezekiel mumbled something, sounding hurt. I wanted to hold his hand, but my whole body was stopped, paralysed as a whole lifetime stormed my mind at once.

He was still tall, but now his suit hung off, his shoulders jutting out only slightly as he staggered on the rocks. His hair was longer too, parting in the middle and hanging down over eyes that were clearly the same ones we had left. Queens would have fallen at this man's command, women holding onto every word he said, getting him whatever he wanted.

My memories turned sour at this, remembering long, anticipation filled nights when i waited for him to come home, dreadful evenings, sometimes weeks at a time wondering whether he'd been discovered yet. He was certainly Du Lacs' son as he stood before us, charming jaw and dusty hair. Then he spoke, and I was raised to action.

"Morgana, you promised. No harm," he said softly, as if he really could stop her with just his voice. Morgana stopped herself, her eyes still fixed on me until Galahad grabbed her shoulder. He suddenly dropped, his eyes rolling as the Colonel rushed to hold him so he wouldnt be too batted from the rocks on the beach. Ezekiel raced fowards too, making sure Cassandra could stand by herself before picking up Galahad legs as Eve grabbed his torso. Ezekiel looked surprised for a moment, but continued to carry Galahad as they raced to the door.

"Mordred," Cassandra said, touching my arm in a comforting gesture, "Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah, just," i muttered, "just keep him away from me," I said, watching Cassandra's eyes widen. She seemed to understand though, because she quickly turned around, following the other three through the back door.

"Don't worry," Morgana said, this time simpathetically, "he's bound to me now. You'll always know where he is," she said, as if this would comfort me.

"I always knew where he was," I said to her, my voice low, "it was that he never cared where I was." I gave her one last glance, before i turned to the back door, knowing she wouldn't try to force herself into the library behind me.
