I stood up slowly, ignoring my two loves and walking towards Colonel Baird first. Auntie Morgana had taught me this trick, being able to freeze and unfreeze people at will, but I'd never seen such an appropriate use of it until now. I unfroze just the Colonel, watching her confused for a moment before she registered my serious expression.

"You have to leave us, don't you?" She asked, knowing the answer, but wanting to hear me say it. "Yes," I replied, "you were right. I messed everything up. Galahad and Ezekiel's friendship should never have been destroyed by a girl. I apologise," I said, looking her in the eye.
"Good luck, wherever you end up," she said, and I noticed her look at me with a small sense of pride, like she knew I was doing the right thing. "What happens now?" She asked, looking around at her frozen colleagues.
"I'll say goodbyes to everyone, then I'll change Galahad back. I'll slip through the back door and you won't remember anything about me." I said. I stood up straight, saluting the Guardian. "Look after them Colonel Baird," I said, watching her salute me back.
"Look after yourself, Princess Mordred," she replied with complete respect. I gave her a smile before freezing her back.

Next I turned to Cassandra, unfreezing her. She looked at me surprised, before her eyes grew sad. "You have to go?" She asked, looking very upset.
"Yeah," I replied, pulling her in for a hug, "At least you'll have your Mr. Jenkins back, with no anger attached," I said, watching Cassandra smile a little. I was glad I got to see her smile, so that that was the way I could remember her. "Look after Jenkins for me," I added in hesitation.
"What about Ezekiel?" She asked timidly.
"He'll be fine," I replied, smiling sadly,
"He won't remember me, none of you will," I said. Cassandra gave me another hug before I froze her again too.

Next I turned to Mr. Stone. I unfroze him and immediately he frowned at me. "You used magic, that's never a good thing," he scowled at me, "but I know you're only doing this because you care for them," he added, making me smile a little.
"Thanks for understanding," I said, taking his hands in mine, "Just promise me something?" I asked, watching him carefully.
"What?" He asked, worried.
"Don't take history so seriously," I said, earning me a smirk from the cowboy, "I mean, it can't be right all the time," I giggled.
Stone squeezed my hands, "Just look after yourself, and try not to get into too much trouble. Okay?" He asked. I nodded, freezing him in his smile.

Next I turned to Galahad. I hesitated for a moment, wondering whether I should unfreeze him or not. I gathered what seemed to be the last of my courage, unfreezing him before slapping him across the face. He looked at me surprised. "That's for everything you've put me through," I said, before holding his hand, "I love you Galahad, but as a brother, no more as a partner. You let me down a lot, and now I'm going to have to disappear again. You won't remember that I'm still alive. But it'll keep you from being stupid." I said, watching him almost protest. I shook his hand, "The Librarians need their Grumpy Uncle Jenkins, not the handsome, charming idiot that you were when you were Galahad. I mean, what would they do with you? You'd get stuck in too many mirrors," I smiled, watching him chuckle nervously, knowing I was telling the truth. "Goodbye Mordred," he said, his voice croaking like Jenkins, "I hope, when we see each other again I'll be better behaved."
"Thank you," I said, before grinning cheekily, "but I won't be promising anything about being behaved. I mean, where's the fun in that?" I said. I finally got the smile I was looking for, the smile I'd missed the most over the past 500 years. I froze him in that moment, wanting him to be happy, even if he didn't remember why when I left.

Finally I turned to Ezekiel. He was so cute, frozen in time, desperately pleading for me not to go. I wiped a tear from my cheek before unfreezing him. I gave him longer than anyone to realise what was going on, I didn't know what to say. He watched me nervously before saying, "You, you can't stay. We can't, be together," he seemed to stutter, making me rush into his arms. I could hear his heart beating, tears flowing down my cheeks, some hitting his shirt. "Oh," I said, lifting my head off his chest, "I'll leave a wet patch," I sighed, attempting a smile.
"Mordred," Ezekiel said gently, "tell me, will I remember anything? I mean, I've remembered things I shouldn't have before." I shook my head, looking at him and speaking in the softest voice I knew. "You can't remember, if you do, it'll just hurt us both." I said, tears still escaping from my eyes.
"Hey," he said, lifting my head up so that our faces almost touched, "I'm Ezekiel Jones, I'll be fine." He said. I stood up on my toes, pressing my lips into his. His knees collapsed a little, before he pulled me closer, holding me strongly so that our kiss seemed to last forever. I would've stayed forever in that moment, but I knew I had to leave. For Galahad and Ezekiel's friendships' sake. I stopped, lowering my head and stepping away from Ezekiel's arms. "Goodbye," he whispered, "I love you."
"I love you," I whispered back, freezing him.

I turned around to face Galahad, my expression hardening at the sight of him. "No more of the games," I said, raising my hand. I used all of my bent up anger to pull the youth out of him, in his frozen state I could see him ageing slowly, until I saw Jenkins now staring blankly forward, I smile on his face. I doubled over, feeling the energy circle around in my veins. I dusted myself off, looking around the room before opening the back door. I stared straight ahead, as if to someone that had been in the room but wasn't completely there. "Goodbye," I whispered, walking through the door, at the same time unfreezing the Librarians, their Guardian, and their Grumpy Jenkins.
