Stone and Ezekiel were both silent, avoiding each others' eyes as they both stood in shock. Ezekiel was flushed red, but Stone didn't want to comment on it, knowing that it would just embarrass the younger Librarian more. Instead, he turned to the gallery door, almost jumping as Cassandra's head appeared as the door glowed. "Jacob come on," she said, waving to him before adding, "Ezekiel, you're going to want to be here."
Ezekiel jumped quickly, a hard look on his face that made Stone grab him by the shoulder. "Be careful buddy," the cowboy said, as Ezekiel made a weird, growling sound, "we don't know how this'll pan out just yet." Ezekiel relaxed under his grip, and the cowboy let go of him, patting the younger Librarian on the shoulder. "I'll go first, then, when you're ready, follow behind me," Stone said, making sure Ezekiel understood him. Ezekiel nodded, and the cowboy nodded back.
Stone paced to the door, going through it with a flash. He looked at Cassandra for a moment, noticing that she looked a little hurt, before looking at the other man in the room. He jumped, but as the man looked up he relaxed, obviously recognising the eyes of his friend Jenkins. He looked Jenkins up and down before saying, "So who's the 'cowboy' now huh Jenkins? I mean, look at you! The Knights of Camelot were real fighters huh?" he said, noticing Jenkins now dusty blonde hair.
Jenkins gave him a smirk, before replying, "Except there were less cows and more father issues," he said, the tone in his voice similar to if he was correcting the Librarians on their knowledge of magical artefacts. Stone smiled a little, before he started in mock surprise, "How can you have more father issues than me?" he asked, "I'm the King of father issues," he added, earning a smile from both Jenkins and Cassandra.
Jenkins gave him a sarcastic look before saying, "My father was Lancelot Dulaque."
"Touché," Stone said, looking impressed. Mordred, who'd been in the back of the room during this exchange, suddenly spoke up. "Where's Ezekiel?" she asked Stone, ignoring Jenkins as he suddenly roused himself. As if on command the young Librarian burst through the door, giving Mordred a glance before he noticed Jenkins was awake. Mordred took a step forward, but as she began to speak Cassandra held her back, giving her a cautious look before alerting her towards Jenkins.
The young Jenkins now stood up, towering above Ezekiel, fist clenched. The Librarians and their Guardian couldn't move, they'd never seen Jenkins like this before. They'd seen him grumpy, he never stopped being grumpy, but this was different. This was rage. Ezekiel made a sound which only Jenkins and Mordred could apparently hear. "You betrayed everything you taught us," he said, making Jenkins rise taller again.
"I did what was right," Jenkins growled, now everyone could hear what they were saying.
"You used magic for your own vanity, because you thought that's what Mordred wanted," Ezekiel said, making Mordred's cheeks feel hot.
"That's all she wanted, she only left when we started ageing," Jenkins said, his voice getting louder.
"Then how come she isn't all over you? How come I'm not dumped?"
"Ezekiel Jones, you are a thief, you are not some hero, you are just a kid," Galahad said, advancing on Ezekiel, pushing him up against the wall, practically hitting him. Ezekiel was trapped, but he didn't push back. "You can't steal her back from me," he said on impulse, looking Galahad directly in the eyes.
"She is NOT. AN. ARTEFACT!" Galahad roared, making Mordred wince and Cassandra hold onto her tightly so that she didn't lunge at him. Ezekiel wasn't scared, or at least he didn't look it as he yelled back, right in the immortals' face. "Then stop treating her like one!"
