PART THREE

December 24, 2022
Simon watched the world in front of him whirl past him. Wind blew against his warm face as they suddenly stopped in front of a cottage house. The house was decorated for Christmas, and Simon knew the bill must be through the roof.
"What's this?" He questioned Ethan, and the ghost smiled as he brought Simon into the house. Simons nose filled with the smell of vanilla and warm cookies. He walked around the main hall, his hands grazing against the cream coloured walls.
A child laughing brought him to his senses once again, and he snapped over to look at Ethan. The brunette pointed into the lounge, and simon followed Ethan's finger.

My heart fluttered as the scene in front of me unfolded. Josh was on the sofa, a child tucked between his legs with a book in hand. I glanced around for me, and there I was, rearranging the gifts under the decorated Christmas tree.
"Daddy, finish reading!" The young child playfully whined to josh, giggling in the process.
"Fine fine. But first you have to ask dad to come sit with us and stop touching the presents." Josh's voice was filled with joy, and my whole body buzzed as I watched the encounter. Older me got up, sticking his tongue out at josh before lifting the girl from josh's lap and into his arms.
"Who's that?" Ethan looked at me dumbfounded before bringing us closer into the room.
"That's your daughter. Alena. The year is 2022." My heart beat ten times faster as I looked at the couple, josh and I, with our daughter. Josh continued to read the book, closing it as he finished.
"Another another!" Alena giggles as she jumped up and down. Older me shook him head, pulling her closer to him and leaning into josh.
"Baby you have to go to sleep or Father Christmas won't visit you. And you want him to come so he will leave you presents." My voice was high pitched as I talked to her, and my bottom lip quivered as I listened to older me speak. Alena gasped, looking over to josh.
"Daddy that means we have to get the cookies! Come on come on come on!" The little girl grabbed onto josh's larger hand, trying to pull him from his spot on the sofa. He sighed, smiling at the excited child as he got up and lifted her to his chest.
"We last. Me and Josh last." I could feel myself filling with joy as Ethan smiled.
There was a knock on the door, and I heard older me shuffling to answer it.
"That must be the boys!" He shouted as I watched him swing the door open, a gust of cold wind swimming into the toasty house.
The familiar faces of the guys flooded into vision, all four of them at the door.
"Lena, uncle Jj is here!" My older self shouted, and out from the kitchen came running the small child. She squealed jjs name, running his arms. They all entered the room, Jj still holding Alena.
"Where's Keris at?" Simon asked Tobi and Vik as they sat down in the lounge. I watched as they talked, momentarily forgetting that Ethan was next to me.
"Why are we here?"
The question that had been going through my mind since we began the journey through time.
"You are too hard on yourself Si. Just because I'm gone does not mean you need to forever hold it against yourself. Look at this, you grow up to have an amazing life with someone you truly love. Tobi and Vik have a kid, Keris, and Jj finally found love." His voice was calming, the background music to the night. I hummed, watching the 5 guys converse as Jj helped Alena set the cookie plate atop the mantle by the fire place.
"I had to force uncle Harry out the house. He wanted to stay home, but then I reminded him that you would be awake to see him and he agreed to go." Jj giggles as he held the young child in his arms. The words sunk in, and once more I snapped my head over to Ethan, my mouth agap as I stared at him.
"So you are telling me, Jj And Harry are together!?" I practically shouted, a smile displayed on my face as I thought of the two.
"You caught the pair a few years earlier. Jj brought Harry to his normal self."
Everything was being set into place. Everything was set into place.
I couldn't wait to have this world that was around me become a reality, the reality I would be living with my best friend and boyfriend Josh.
"Alright Al, let's go up to bed so Father Christmas can come to our house." Josh took the child from Jj, heading through the corridor and up a set of stairs around the corner.
"So, we are all going to visit Eth tomorrow at lunch right?"

The 5 guys all agreed on a time in which I would be best to visit our dead friends grave.
The friend that was standing
Right. Next. To. Me.
"You know, it's nice to know that you guys still visit me at my grave. Anyway, this is the end of our adventure. And Simon, this is my final goodbye. I want you to forever move on from me. Josh loves you, you love josh. A couple that was obviously meant to happen. I love you Simon, and I know deep down you didn't mean for any of this to happen. I don't want you to blame yourself for anything that happened. You are the only living remain of Emon, you have to be happy. For me. For josh, okay?"
His words rushed to my head, and I nodded furiously. He smiled, and the world around me filled with smoke and glitter, and I was once again back in the house that I fell asleep in. I looked at the clock, 12:40 am it read. I let out a breath, the weight of the world falling on my eyelids as I fell back asleep with the sweet thoughts of the future.
