Simons pov

My heart leapt in my chest.
I stood in the airport waiting for Jj to get of his plane from LA. My hands shook as my eyes shifted from terminal to terminal. People rushed around the busy airport, luggage being carried across the glossy floors. Terminal 2 lit up, and people began to rush out of it.
This was the moment of truth for me, if Jj actually came or if he flaked on me.
I was just about to give up, the light flicking off as the last few people slipped past the doors.
A disappointed sigh escaped my lips as I turned away from the terminal and towards the exit. I heard my name in the distance, and I turned around to seek where it was coming from. Just ahead of me was an out of breath jide. The air escaped my lungs as I ran to my best friend. We clashed together, falling to the ground like one of those Instagram videos. Tears spilled down my cheeks as Jj embraced me. I didn't want to let go in hopes that this wasn't just a dream. My shirt felt wet, and I looked up to see Jj dripping tears.
"Aren't so strong are we now." My voice broke as I spoke, a smile gripping against my lips. Jj giggled loudly, hitting my arm lightly.
"I've missed you so much. There's so much to talk about. I know I'm probably not wanted at the house, so I'll book a hotel as soon as I can." Jj rambled on, his hands fidgeting as he stared a the floor.
"Jj, you are welcome to the house anytime. You don't have to stay at a hotel." I rolled my eyes, shrugging off his offer to stay somewhere else. No matter how much the others hated to admit it, they missed Jj just as much as me. He nodded, a smile on his face as he bumped shoulders with me. I took one of his luggage and we set off for my car.
The air was below freezing, nothing new for London's December weather. Once I spotted my car, a new, dark blue Audi R8, I dragged Jj away from the way he was going.
"New car? What happened to the older one?" He sounded genuinely intrigued as he dumped his luggage in the boot.
"Yeah, got it about a month ago. Decided it was time for a change. The Range Rover is sat in the back of the garage collecting dust." I shrugged the answer as I got in the drivers seat, starting up the car with a purr. Jj nodded his head in approval as we drove away from the airport and set off to the house. Vik and Tobi were at the house, josh not being there as he was with Harry at the towers. Jj hummed along to his music, his fingers tapping away at the dash. I watched as a smile settled onto his cheeks, one that I had never seen before.
My heart swelled at my friends happiness, only to be deflated as I thought about how I wasn't there to witness it grow.
"You seem very happy." I hummed out loud, Jj shifting his eyes from the window to my face. He nodded, an almost tired sigh escaping past his lips before he spoke again.
"It took a while to find my muse. To find what I was even working for, the reason I was still trying when so many people wanted me to quit. Then it hit me that my happiness was what I was ultimately working for. I loosened up and suddenly the happiness flowed from within." His words tangled together in a poetic sentence as he threw his hands in the air.
"Well, that was something." I breathed, surprised that the sentence I just heard came from Jj. The guy that left us months ago to pursue his career became a whole new person, a much happier golden human.
We pulled into the driveway of the house, and I could tell Jj was nervous by the way he was fidgeting in his seat. I set my hand on his shoulder, and his glossy eyes locked with mine.
"They both miss you dearly, chill out please." My voice was soft against my shaky nerves.
In reality I didn't know how the boys would react to Jj being here for the holidays, I only hoped it would go as well as it did in my head.
Jj nodded, grabbing his luggage and taking a deep breath before following me into the house he once claimed as him.
"I'm home! And I brought a guest!" I shouted into the quiet house, and Jj hit my let with his foot.
"You didn't tell them I was coming did you?" His voice sounded hurt, and my heart sunk at the face he was making. I shook my head, turning away from him as I heard the small padder of viks feet against the hard floor. His breath was sucked out of him at the sight of Jj. The smaller boy squealed before jumping into jjs open arms. I watched tobi as he leaned against the door, watching the encounter.
"You back for the holidays!" The hopeful Indians voice was pushed up 2 octaves as he talked with Jj. Jj nodded, looking to tobi and raising his eyebrows.
Tobi sighed before trudging over to jide with a smile on his face.
"The gangs back together!" I shouted, happy that the scene was the one I envisioned. Jj turned to me, hugging me once again before turning back to the couple beside him.

"Now, for the important part," He spoke, pointing his finger between the two boys. "When did this happen?"

So it's been almost a week since I uploaded a proper chapter of this book, and I'm really sorry. School has been so stressful as the first set of grades finalised and I was stressing to get them up. Updates will be a little for frequent if I can<3
