The therapist looked me in the eyes, his hands crossed on the table. His face twitched as I sat there in silence.
"How many times have you seen him since he's been, gone? How many, shall I say, episodes."
He was stuttering on his words as if he was new to this, and I just looked around the room, my eyes landing on an aquarium of fish. A sad smile sat lazily on my face, my fingers locked tightly together.
"Mr.minter, we can't help if you don't answer the questions."
He was starting to get annoyed and I could tell. I was waiting for him to snap, just like everyone who tried to help. They weren't doing anything different from eachother, each one asking the same old questions that made my brain want to melt in exhaustion. I pressed my lips together, the small amount of pressure bringing immense pain to the flesh. Blood dropped from my upper lip, the rusty flavour settling on my tounge as the therapist, who's name I have yet to be bothered to notice was now tapping his fingers on his desk.
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave and come back the same time next week. You time is up for today." His voice was hard, you could tell I pulled the wrong string in his lace confidence; one by one I would pull at the strings til nothing was left.
I stood up, letting the chair scrap roughly against the wooden floor before walking out the office with the blood still floating in my mouth.
Once I got in the car, I let everything out, and like every other time this happens, it brought joy to my brain when I started to not be able to catch my breath.

Viks pov
I sat on the island, a bowl of soggy weetabix sat in front of me. My thoughts walked backwards to last night, the screaming and yelling coming from joshs room that echoed to mine. I couldn't hear what they were talking about but finally after hours of screaming his door slammed shut and you could hear simon crying as he fled to his room. Tobi had been staying with us, more specifically in my room.
I looked across to josh, his fingers typing away on his phone instead of holding the fork that sat on his full plate of eggs.
"What were you and Simon arguing about last night." My voice was barely audible when I spoke, but it echoed loudly across the room, making josh look up at me with hard eyes.
"You heard that?" He was squinting, as if I would change my mind on continuing the conversation if he kept staring at me. I nodded, and a sigh escaped his lips as he let a hand run down his face.
"Simon isn't okay, but he doesn't want help." Josh sounded as if he was being strangled as he explained the state simon was in. My heart pounded loudly in my ears as I heard what I had been so oblivious to. I was too wrapped up in my own personal life to notice another friend was disintegrating before me.
"Could we help?" I didn't want to let another person slip from my life without a fight, but josh shook his head.
"He likes the pain."
That one sentence broke my heart, making my through swell and my appetite disappear. Josh started playing with his fingers, a habit he must have picked up from Simon, before looking back at me.
"You love him?" The question came out in more of a sneer, and I instantly regretted it as joshed face went soft and his eyes shined with shock. He licked his lips, a small chuckle echoing in the room before he nodded.
"Of course I do, I always have. He's the light to my darkness as fucking fruity as that sounds. He makes me feel like I'm worth something, sadly Ethan had to be gone for me to realise this." He went completely bitter at the mention of Ethan. Josh never meant to act as if he didn't like Ethan, he genuinely loved Ethan, but sometimes actions don't speak louder than words.
The front door opened, slamming loudly as whoever it was came through to the kitchen. It was simon, and his eyes were blurry and red, a frown that had been permanently planted on his face still there. I got up, leaving josh and Simon to have their own time as I walked to the back garden. I brought the watering can with me, going up to XIX and feeding him water.
"You've survived a lot little buddy." I whispered to the plant as it drank up the water. I had been the only one other than Tobi to be caught watering it, but I could hear simon through my window talking to the plant on days.
"Stay strong little guy." I choked out as I pet a leave, leaving the plant to soak in the sun as I went to the grass. I lied down, looking up to the sky that was clear of clouds and full of sun. I let my eyes close as I sat in the sun, enjoying the little moments of normality.

Not much to the chapter, but I have a bit more starting to build that I would like to include in this story.
Thank you so much for 900 reads, I felt as if it was just last week that I was at 400, now I am 100 away from 1k?
