Mackenzie's POV
"Madz, aren't Mom and Dad out of town?" I ask, walking into her bedroom.
It's Friday morning and we're both getting ready for school. But, honestly quite frankly, I don't want to go today. I'm just not feeling it.
"Yeah why? What's up?" Maddie answered, walking out of her closet, midst of putting on her jeans.
"I don't want to go to school today," I say, taking a seat on her bed.
She sighs and sits down next to me. Completely ignoring the fact that she still doesn't have a shirt on.
"Usually, I'd say yes but, Kenz I don't kn-"
"Madz, come on! I'm passing all my classes, I've barely missed a week of school this year. Please? Can't we just stay home?"
Maddie sighed again, turning to face me. Then wrapping her arm around my shoulder and smiled softly.
"Know what, why not? We can play hookie," Maddie agreed.
I smiled back and hugged her tightly.
"Thank you thank you thank you!"
She laughs as I release her from the hug. Both of us stand up and smile widely at each other like idiots.
"What do you want to do today?" Maddie asks, crossing her arms.
"What about we have a spa day?" I suggested. "I mean it's freezing outside and I don't want to really go out today."
She chuckled and nods.
"I like that idea. Let me just put on my shirt. We can make some breakfast," Maddie said, slipping on an oversized sweater.
We walk out of her room together and make our way downstairs.
"What if we do eggs and pancakes for breakfast?" I suggested, as we entered the kitchen.
"Yeah I like that, and we can do a little fruit parfait thing too," Maddie said as she opened up the refrigerator.
"Sounds like a plan Stan."
She laughs and pulls out the ingredients. Setting them down on the counter while I got out the pans, plates, bowls, silverware and glasses.
"Okay, I'll make the pancakes and you make the eggs?" I say.
Maddie nodded smiling. We high fives and spread out, getting the things that we needed to make our part. Maddie of course only needed eggs, milk, salt and pepper.
I got out the pancake mix, adding some milk, eggs and sugar to it before whisking it together. Once it was at a good consistency I started to pour them onto the pan.
Letting them cook for several minutes on each side before flipping them. Once everything was all done I placed them on the plates and Maddie had just finished the parfaits.
"Damn were good, this looks like some Pinterest shit," I say aloud.
Maddie and I look at each other and laughed.
-
I fall back, laughing hysterically.
"Wait, Wait Wait," I say trying to catch my breath. "You seriously never did that?"
"No, I've never gone down to the lake and went skinny dipping with Jack. It was just a stupid rumor Cameron started," Maddie admits.
I start to laugh so hard I begin wheezing. Trying so hard to contain myself the best I can, yet failing miserably.
"Okay, okay little miss innocent. What about you? Did you and John break into school and have sex in the chemistry lab?" Maddie questioned.
My jaw dropped. She got me on that one. Right now, if you couldn't tell, we're asking each other about rumors that people started about us. Asking if they're true or not.
"No we didn't have sex and we didn't break in. It was during homecoming freshmen year and we went in the chemistry lab and made our, which lead us to sleep together that night," I explain.
She laughed shaking her head. "I can't believe the amount of times I've walked in on you two," she mutters.
"Right back at you, remember when you and Jack started dating and I walked in on you two practically naked?" I question.
Her cheeks instantly turn a dark crimson color.
"Touché."
We both chuckled a bit and I popped a grape into my mouth.
"How much longer until the masks dry?" I ask.
"Ten more minutes," Maddie answered, checking her timer.
I nodded and laid in her lap. Staring up at her blue eyes. The ones the always comforted me time and time again.
"I have one for you; is it true that you and John that you and John were caught making out in the boys locker room last year?" Maddie asks, looking down at me while playing with my hair.
"Unfortunately I have to say yes. That is true," I sighed, remembering that day exactly.
-
"Babe- I, I have to get back to practice," I say, biting my lip as Johnny bites gently on my collarbone. "The girls are going to notice I'm gone."
"But, Babe, five more minutes? Please?" He begged, staring up at me with his emerald green eyes.
I close my eyes and nodded. Giving into his request.
"What if we get caught?" I ask.
Currently, we are in the boys locker room. Johnny and I both had practice today. I had soccer practice while Johnny had basketball.
"We wo-"
Unfortunately Johnny spoke too soon. Because someone had walked in. That someone was the infamous Rush Holland.
He was a good friend of ours, but of course not our best friend. He could spread rumors so fast it wasn't even funny.
"Shit!" I panicked.
"Mackenzie ziegler and Johnny Orlando in the boys locker room. Nice," Rush smirked leaning against the locker. "I just came to get my Gatorade but, thanks for the little show."
He picks up his bottle and exits the locker room. Leaving John and I stunned and frozen. Unsure what to do.
-
"Damn, that's actually kind of funny," Maddie laughs.
I smack her arm playfully. "It was so embarrassing!"
"But still, it's funny when you're embarrassed," Maddie defended. "You know? I had a great time today, playing hookie was totally worth it today."
