Mackenzie's POV

I stared in the mirror. Observing my outfit for tonight. Carson and I decided to watch movies at his house.

I wore simple skinny jeans ripped at the knee, a gray oversized crew neck sweater, and my white Adidas.

I wasn't going all out. I mean it's Carson's house, and I'm with only Carson. It's not like we're going to do anything.

My phone buzzes, I pick it up and see Carson texted me.

iMessage received now
Cars🔥: hey I'm outside

I smiled put my phone in my pocket. Rushing downstairs and out the front door. Seeing Carson sitting in his blue Audi sedan.

"Hey," I greet sitting in the passengers seat.

"Hey, you ready?" Carson asked, looking up from his phone.

I nodded, "as ready as ever."

He smiled and put his phone in the cup holder driving away.

"I picked up a bunch of snacks and candy and crap. It's in the back seat. Anyways, I was thinking we could watch corpse bride, the purge election year, white chicks and maybe it," Carson explains.

"Uh, ya sounds good."

"You okay? If you don't want to watch one of the movies we can totally pick another one," Carson asks.

"I'm fine with them. It's just, I'm afraid of clowns Carson. Remember?"

When I say remember I mean this has been a life long fear. For as long as I can remember I've been afraid of clowns.

"Oh yeah, shit I completely forgot about that," Carson stated. "Remember my fifth birthday party and you started to cry because of the clown."

Oh I remember that vividly.

-

I ran around Carson's backyard following Johnny to the bounce house.

"Come on Mackenzie hurry up!" Johnny said looking over his shoulder.

"I'm coming! Your too fast!" I say, trying to run faster.

"Mackenzie, be careful in the bounce house," Mom warned.

"Same goes to you Johnny, be careful," Meredith warned Johnny.

We nodded just before we entered the bounce house. Inside was Lauren, Carson, Lexi and Jacob. Everyone else was running around or swimming in the pool.

"Happy birthday Carson! Your party is awesome!" Johnny grinned, jumping up and down.

"Thank you, Kato is having fun too," Carson smiled.

Kato is his cute puppy that loves to play with us.

"But, the clown hasn't gotten here yet," Carson said sadly.

That made me stop jumping and look at Carson. I was scared of clowns, I never liked them.

"You got a-"

"Kids! The clowns here!" Diane, Carson's Mom, shouts.

Everyone screams happily and rushes out the bounce house. I follow but just to run to my mom and hide behind her leg.

"Sorry Mer, Mackenzie what's wrong?" Mom asks.

"Mommy, they have a clown," I whined.

Mom chuckled a bit and picks me up.

"You'll be okay sweetie, you don't have to be afraid of him," Mom reassured.

"Yeah and Kenzie, it's just a boy wearing makeup," Meredith reassured.

I look at Mom scared and hold onto her tightly. I didn't want to go anywhere near that clown. He looked scary too.

"Mommy please don't make me go!"

"Shh! It's okay I won't make you go alright?" Mom reassured.

I nodded as she put me down. I still held onto her leg for dear life.

"You okay Kenzie?" Diane asks.

I shake my head.

"What's wrong honey?" She asks.

"She's afraid of clowns," Mom answered.

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry. I completely forgot about that. How about we go inside and you can play with Olivia and Jackson with Kato for a bit. How does that sound?" Diane offers.

I nodded and slowly let go of my mom's leg.

I grabbed Diane's hand as she led me to the door to go inside.

"Hey there little girl, you want a balloon animal?" The clown asks, kneeling down to my height.

I shake my head no. Trying to move away from him faster. But, I couldn't help but to look at his face. It was scary and I didn't like that.

I bit my lip. Starting to feel the tears come to my eyes. Then stream down my face.

"I don't like the clown," I say.

-

Carson sat there laughing while I shot him a death glare. Smacking his arm repeatedly.

"Hey don't be so mean, Mr. I'm afraid of pigeons," I teased.

"Hey, pigeons are creepy little shits," Carson defends.

"And clowns are scary!"

We pull up to his house and he parks the car. Turning to face me he grins.

"Fine both things are equally scary. Now let's go watch some movies!" He said enthusiastically.

God he's such a dork.

So like, I have t updated this in awhile and tbh I don't think my stories are all that popular anymore bc like I'm an older write and there's some new writers that are like really good so I think I'm old news.

So like if I'm old news should I not write my new stories? Should I not try to write them?

Also, I have an idea for another story but like I'm not too sure bout the details n all.

But yeah, that's me.
