Mackenzie's POV

Roses. One of my favorite flowers. They're beautiful, but they can hurt with their thorns.

It's like women. They're beautiful on the outside but, we will hurt you.

That's how it was today. Today was a different day. It was, well a bad day.

-

I woke up in the morning feeling slightly better than I have the past few days.

I get ready in a pair of black ripped skinny jeans, a white shirt with roses on the arm and white high top vans.

I did my hair just so, and applied very little make up. I was feeling myself today. I wanted to look like a snack.

I gather my things and bring them downstairs, taking only a bottle of water and a protein shake for breakfast, I was all set and ready for today.

Maddie did the same as I did and we left the house. Getting into her car, we had to pick up Kendall this morning.

"You look good Kenzie," Maddie complimented.

I smiled towards her. "Thank you! I actually tried today," I laugh.

She gives a small chuckle and makes a left turn, heading down the street and parking in front of Kendall's house. Only moments later we see the brunette running to the car.

"Hey guys, thanks Madz for the ride, my car keeps breaking down," Kendall said, getting settled in the backseat.

"Yeah it's no problem K," Maddie said, driving off.

"Kenzie, you look nice today," Kendall compliments.

"Thanks K," I smiled.

"No problem," Kendall smiled. "Oh! Maddie did you do math last night? I didn't understand it."

I laugh shaking my head at the conversation. Beginning to zone out and stare out the window as they talked.

-

I close my locker and spin on my heel. Startled when I see Hayden, Annie and Lexi. Yet, I was confused where everyone else was.

"Where's everyone else?" I question.

"At their lockers. While Carson is with Lauren getting her schedule," Hayden answered.

I nodded and started to walk to class, with them by my sides.

"So how're you doing after the other day? We didn't really get to talk," Annie questioned.

I sighed shrugging. Knowing I'd have to face the facts one day or another.

"I'm alright. I mean, I'm not happy that Johnny isn't here but, I can get through it. It's what he'd want me to do. Right?" I explain.

Lexi nods and wraps an arm around my shoulder.

"Proud of you boo, and remember if you ever need anything for se-"

"I think I'm good Lexi thanks," I say.

Hayden and Annie laughed as we met up with the rest of our friends. Finding Carson and Lauren with them.

"Hey guess what!" Lauren said excitedly.

"What?" Ruby questioned.

"I have the same classes as you guys!" Lauren squealed happily.

"No way that's awesome!" We say, checking out her schedule.
